The landowner (owner of the trees) will have been approached about trimming them. He will be given a few weeks to get it done, and then the council will trim it and bill him. The council are legally obliged to give him time to get it done under (IIRC) the Highways Act or the New Roads and Streetworks Act.

I know because I've got many signs in the same condition. I cannot just trim the trees back (and therefore at a cost to the public purse) without giving the owner a chance to do it first (out of his own pocket).

If anything, the landowner is council for not maintaining his garden.
I bet there's a dispute as to who owns that strip of land between the fence and the pavement

It all just seems so unfair. I've worked every day of my life since leaving school, I've never been paid a penny in benefits and all I've taken out of the system is two minor operations on the NHS (circumcision and appendectomy, if you're interested). I know I have to work to be able to buy the things I want and genuinely don't feel like or believe I'm entitled to anything. Why can't I be rewarded with a free home and TV for being excellent?
That explains the ballbag comment then. It’s lost it’s tautness.

I bet there isn't. biggrin

There will be a map of where the highways responsibility ends and that will be definitive - it is what a judge/tribunal would look at to determine the outcome of any legal challenges.

So what happens at 17 when his licence is issued? Does it immediately get revoked having got 6 points?

Not hard to find her very public FB profile, but I guess "Works at being a full time fking LEDGAND!smile<3" takes its toll on your appearance....

And yes, it is a full house of council bingo on there.
Bloody hell,is there not ONE word spelled correctly on that page?
I'm sure there must be a less public one out there,as nothing on the profile since 2014... Council types can't keep away from FB for that long smile ETA new one found now, even worse!
And as this is PH, I noted:
6 June "Luv ma car"
7 June "For sale" smile

It's council gold.

Calling her child a , the dad moaning about not seeing the kids, the boyfriend doing something he might get six months for, being accused of bullying, getting called a twisted skank for trying to steal a husband, it's the feed that keeps on giving.

Look on the formatting help link up there ^ when you reply/make a post on PH... or use the following link:

Linky to formatting help

Put simply, square brackets [] at the start of your formatting begin an instruction, the same with a back slash included end the instruction [/].

You want bold text? Use [ b ] at the start of the text you want in bold [ / b ] at the end (I've left spaces in so you can see the formatting code). i in the brackets for italic text, u for underlined text.

There are various other ways to manipulate text , links, formatting etc. Have a look at the link if you're interested.

Edit: speckled jim has posted the same whilst I was composing the above (insert Blackadder/General Melchet joke if you will...).
Not knowing how to underline stuff on PH? Tut!

In the article it states the points are inactive until his first offence, then he's instantly banned due to totting up.

New drivers licence will be cancelled (revoked) if they get 6 or more points within 2 years of passing their test.

It seems like she’s renting from the Council and that she’s disabled. Ergo the taxpayer will be paying her rent (to the Council, not some private Landlord, not all of whom have properties in slums).

In the chess world championship I suspect farting would be a tactic.

Some councils are the biggest slum landlords of all based upon some of the properties I viewed in one particular Scottish council area - blocks of flats primarily owned by the council in absolutely shocking states of repair.

Ah yes. I re-read.

Odd council stock through, a 4 bed flat above a pub.

She's not disabled, she's Scottish.

In light of the Spice Girls’ reunion and impending tour, can I nominate Mel B as the most council famous person ever?

Drink and drugs and crap tattoos and unsuitable partners. Multiple children by multiple fathers. Shouty attitude and aggression. Utterly hopeless with money. Chavvy kids’ names. It’s a tick-fest of biblical council-ness.

She’s basically living the life she would have lived had she not found fame and had remained living on a Leeds council estate. Only with a bigger budget.
