Would be lovely to have a couple of feet for a change!
Elevated areas could well end up with repeated deep dumps.

Low level areas might be too warm.

So here in the south we’ll get rain then. Balls

Current forecast for Macclesfield Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur. As Mr P said, there's a possibility of considerably more on the hills.

Too early to call for the South, but even the Met Office say most will see a snow shower, even if it doesn't settle.

Plenty of time for things to change, and they always do.

Western and Central Scotland mountains are in the grip of a proper Winter. The photo is from near Fort William a couple days ago. And they're going to get another 30-50cm of snowfall next Mon to Weds.

But the rest of the country, with warm ground and sea, looks too warm for major snow. More likely to be a sprinkle for most people, especially in the bottom half of the UK.

Having been up there over the past week I will agree, a proper winter wonderland. I ski'd for five days. Nevis & Glencoe stunning bluebird conditions & no shortage of the white stuff. I also did some touring about the Highlands what a beautiful place in the winter.

Indeed... Summers are almost always crap (when everyone comes here!), but Spring, Autumn and Winter can be stunning.

[shameless insert of pics from the past couple of weeks]

Apols for off topic... as you were.

Lots of confusion in the charts.

Cool spell starting tomorrow. As for the last few years, Northern and Western locations with altitude to benefit most.

Weds night in to Thursday has potential to be severely windy. The track of this low pressure is critical for who gets snow, how warm it gets and if continued cold occurs. Right now it's bad news for the south, as this system will drag up lots of warmer air. Could still change though.
