Heavy snow last night before the temp increased by 6 degrees and turned to rain. Threats of up to 20cm of snow haven't materialised...
Yes, that's what we had. It looked like ping pong balls coming down at 10pm, but this morning we just have masses of soggy slush. Must have warmed up more than they expected because if that rain had come as snow that would have been the 20cm...Did that storm have a name?
My route to work was blocked by one very stout horizontal chestnut tree. leaving only room for cabriolets underneath. The other route had a partial blockage being minded by plod (who could have shoved it out the way had they been big enough!).
Does the incidence of punctures increase after windy weather?

Oxfordshire, 18th January 2013 - I had just been sent home from work early due to the developing snowmaggedon:
Oxfordshire, 18th January 2018 is looking very different - 50mph winds overnight with a decent shower of rain, now looking like a proper spring day with glorious sunshine, and barely a breeze in the air.

Power cut still and typically I'm off work and had things to do at home that need power. First world problem and all that I know.....
I do feel for those that have to go out in this weather to mend damaged lines and so on.
3 nearby roads blocked with trees this morning so getting my kids to school involved a myriad of country roads and U turns and head scratching but we got there eventually.

Fionn (the sound which your shed roof makes as it goes whizzing past your head).Feckin wind woke me up at 3am - had to close the bedroom window.
Our neighbours seem to have acquired a very large trampoline in their back garden overnight… god knows where it came from as I’ve never noticed one around here before!
Walking to the railway station: there are a fair few houses with missing ridge tiles and a generous assortment of wheelie bins and fence panels decorating the roads.

The Buxton weather website is predicting potentially up to 20cm of snow over higher ground tonight (with appropriate caveats)...... Given that so far in the Peak District we've had about an inch of slush I'm not going to believe this until it happens.
Forecast was almost completely wrong again for the High Peak. No snow in the Macc/Whaley Bridge/Buxton/Chesterfield corridor. Even Mam Tor missed out this time, though it got a covering on Tue night. Looks like any reasonable snowfall was further north. Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
