Couldn't see a thread for this, but this has just become free to play on Xbox, PS4 and PC.

It's pretty much a cartoon copy of Battlegrounds by the looks of it, at least it's something to play while I wait for the Xbox release of PUBG smile

ETA: 3 games in and my best finish is 16th, it's bloody hard hehe

I just started playing today after only just learning its on consoles. Great that its free!

Played 3 games and killed a total of two other players so far... Even so I've gotten into the 30s by the time I've died.

I like how its more casual/accessible than PUBG. Not that I've ever played it but it looks pretty serious on Twitch. Still very tense playing on your own.

The building element adds a nice twist.

I think it'll be brilliant in a squad so I'm hoping my friends will be downloading it tomorrow!

In half an hour, It's ok.
Guns feel ineffectual and strangely inaccurate, not really sure what the smash build thing is about.
Cartoony characters look good the whole thing is very technicolour.
Didn't have the tension of PUBG.
For a freebie it's pretty good but it didn't grab my attention enough to play any more.

Loving it right now, pretty much top 10 every time now.

Retail row is best to drop into!

6 games in and I finally managed to kill someone! Staying towards the edge of the storm seems to be a good tactic but can catch you out quite easily.

Few games yesterday...

drop early... get shot, drop late more chance to get gear....

Then get shot!

Have managed a few kills but my one top ten i landed on the wrong side from the circle and spent all game running before losing a gun fight.

Will probably de install and back to bf1

I'm liking it! Got two wins in solo so far but I'm yet to win in squads cos my two friends just seem to be useless hehe

Can see this going unplayed by me for a while though seeing as Forza 7 is out tonight

Been playing this after realising it was a free download and wanting PUBG on console as my PC sucks.

It's like crack - can't stop playing it! Usually play duo with a mate...came 2nd a few times but no wins yet.

Hopefully they will expand the guns and maps as time goes on too.

It's cool but the cartoon style takes away the tension that PUBG has. On the plus side, it should allow them to make new maps a lot faster, which is something PUBG struggles with, millions of people have been playing that one map for months now. I know it's only a beta but a tutorial mode would have been nice, trying to set the trap items and build structures isn't exactly intuitive.

I think the real mileage in this game will be the co-op defense mode against the zombie horde, I think that will be a lot of fun.

The trap items?! laugh

Clearly a tutorial would be good. I'd be happy to join a squad sometime if people are playing.

I had no real interest in these games before, and admittedly have never watched PUBG, but I've certainly seen some tense final stages on Twitch in the last few days. I guess it is a different thing, the building or rather the sheer speed of it is a little silly, but that's a lot of what the game is all about, it's fitting and gives it its own character. Wouldn't be surprised to see another map soon either.

I'm thinking about trying it, though I'm enjoying just watching for now.

Isn't the co-op the main purchased Fortnite as it is already?

We're seeing a market that isn't anywhere near saturated yet, Fortnite BR looks to have established itself, PUBG is just as big, so will be interesting to see what could be done next. Was thinking last night a fantasy BR would be cool, does it even need to be an open sky map, how about classes for squad play?

Far too much loading : playing ratio, and when you are playing, too much running around : shooting ratio, for me.
I like the style of it though, the PvE mode sounds good, though I wish they'd put split screen in.

Dont understand why these Battle Royal games are so popular? I have had a few goes on Fortnite and what a snooze fest. You either die instantly, or spend most of your time doing nothing but running across the map and hiding, only to die. Rinse repeat a million times. Not exactly an enjoyable experience. Admittedly I am no good at this game but my experience is 85% loading screen, 15% game play if you can even call it that.

On one game I ended up watching the guy who killed me, who subsequently went on to win the game. It was 15 / 20 mins of some guy creeping along, hiding in bushes, waiting and then lucking out and managing to shoot the last guy in the back. Hardly adrenaline filled!

Won another couple of rounds of this over the weekend. Should keep me occupied until PUBG comes to PS4 as not wasting money on COD WW2 with its tiny linear maps.

I've been playing for a couple of weeks and initially, I wasn't super keen, however the added element of building adds an extra dimension that PUBG doesn't have. Be it building a quick wall when taking fire from an unspotted enemy or using ramps to quickly transverse a mountain or building a sky base from which to rain down rocket propelled pumpkins. Without this element, it would just be a dumbed down PUBG, but the build element adds back in complexity and allows for a multitude of strategies otherwise unavailable.

The ability to edit a structure that has already been placed is very helpful. Yesterday I ended up under a massive fort towards the end of the game (3 players left) I built underneath the fort and walled myself in, but added a door so that I could quickly get out. One of the other two players also ended up under the fort, but hadn't noticed me boxed in. He walled himself in on the side where I had placed my door. I opened the door, jumped through, shot and then back in to my box, closing the door behind me.

I've won a few games on PC and on console. Best performance was 11 kills in a squad win on Xbox. My PC skills aren't great and I suck at building on both platforms, I'm more of a scout and gunner and rely on others to build fortresses.

Chilled version of PUBG but still competitive. 12/12 for that on Xbox, look forward to it. Hope they set the price in line with Steam at £26.99.

You can get it for £20 from CD Keys, using their Facebook voucher. Placed my order yesterday.

Been playing Fortnite, but getting annoyed with the bugs. Had a massive delay earlier, swapping to rocket launcher ended up with nothing in my hands, pulled the trigger several times and nothing, all whilst being shot. Got down to 5 health, when eventually my player had the RPG in his hands and fires.
Landed on a roof, start bashing my way through, nothing happens, then all of a sudden I'm in a field next to the house...

I hope they do a physical copy too.

Fortnite servers have been a bit laggy lately, especially if you land in a busy area with a lot of other players. I wonder how PUBG is going to manage.
