I think I may have thrown in a silly pun reply on one occasion somewhere but with him it's just tiresome and I can only presume attention seeking.

I think we all enjoy a pun from time to time, but its all he does, he never actually adds anything else.

I suspect there are a couple of issues here...

As you say we all seem to enjoy the odd pun. The problem is when they're constant or (worse) constantly forced.
Issue 2 however, especially as far as *this* thread goes, is the behaviour may be viewed as juvenile and he obviously finds it amusing therefore it meets the criteria of the thread.
