and then the killer as far as I am concerned -

Their shoes are Blake stitched
Not a fan of Berluti then?
I have no issue with Blake stitched shoes per se and if they offered a refurbishment service then great but when they don’t and you have to find someone to repair them that’s gonna be a ball ache

I didn't look into the shoes in great detail but they were cheaper than my off-the-shelf offerings from Barker which seemed odd.
I would think the price is influence by the fact they are selling direct from a factory in Southern Europe so no retail network, distribution network etc.

There are loads of sales on at the moment.

I got the email from Cheaney about the sale preview so I finally ordered a pair of Cheaney Jarrow in English Tan Chromexcel.

Last year I bought the same boot in the dark brown "Chicago tan" Chromexcel. The boots fit nicely but were always a little too dark for my liking with a thick burnishing/dye coat which masks the "pull-up" nature of Chromexcel leather. I'm hoping the pale tan has less of a coating so I get more of a colour variation around the flex areas.

Nice looking boots. Though personally I'd prefer less toe spring.

Hmm, I'm just polishing my current Jarrows and they don't look to have much of a spring.

Perhaps my powerfully built physique has helped to flatten them down a bit?

So what you're saying is... you need to go on a diet?

Picked these up the other day to replace some old Loake 1880 Chester derby brogues I (stupidly) had resoled by an independent cobbler a while back so Loake will no longer touch them. So far liking them!

Very nice indeed. Very similar to the Chesters, but I think a better colour; I find my Chesters a little ‘pale’

I have my Chesters in Brown rather than the Tan which I think is quite a lot lighter, so they're fairly similar in colour to the C&Js. The scotch grain on the C&Js has a lovely depth to it though.

Chesters still not shaping up badly after 5 years of heavy wear.

Side by side the Pembrokes.
