This is similar to the 100s, 1000s post above.
VAG group- surely that is saying Volkswagen Audi Group group.
I was once asked to put in 'your personal PIN number' which translates as personal personal Identification number number' . I'm not sure if she was thick or joking.

VAG stands for Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, abbreviated to Volkswagen AG.

AG is equivalent to, but not identical to, a PLC.

What does the ‘G’ stand for? Surely it should be just VA according to your explanation above?

OED defines floor as an informal synonym of ground
I know what he means though.

Floor to me implies a level of surface finish, associated with being indoors.

Not a hard-and-fast rule, but I'd tend to use 'ground' outdoors and 'floor' indoors.
What about 'ground floor'?

People who crowd around a carriage door when a train pulls in at a platform - preventing passengers from alighting - and proceed to shove and bully their way on to the carriage. This then makes the whole process take twice/thrice as long as it should, making the train late leaving the station and for the rest of the journey. Selfish bds.

The G stands for "geselschaft" - you have to remember the unusual way in which the German language is written compared to how it is spoken - nouns get longer and longer without spaces when written, even though when spoken you pause a bit.

I did some work in London some years back that involved using the tube at rush hour. I found carrying a brief case and using it kneecap anyone that's standing in the way worked quite well biggrin

No. A bus station is on the road network which is used by various types of vehicles therefore "road station" wouldn't be specific enough. Trains arrive at (not into, despite what the onboard staff say over the intercom mad) railway stations.

Looking at jobs on an app, my keyword is 'scientist' - the number of jobs that are titled "Data Scientist." Job is totally about collating financial data/sales data etc. YOU ARE NOT A SCIENTIST. YOU ARE AN ADMIN ASSISTANT. Sales data is not a living/physical science; hence you are not a scientist.

I'm waiting for a queue of disappointed 'actual engineers' to share your lament.

Oh I'm used to that in my work place too. 'Non-qualified' personnel given the job title 'Engineer' - winds up the real engineers as much as Data Scientist winds me up.

Really stupid people. I work for a building contractor and a few months ago we completed affordable housing for the local authority. Yesterday our customer care manager got a "4-hour urgent repair call" from the council. Apparently Sky not working is urgent rolleyes Anyway, we called in a Sky engineer and he met our manager on site to check on the signal strength at the communal dish. Very strong signal so no problem there.

They called into the tenants house.
"You have a problem with Sky?"
"Yes, it's not working".
"Where's your Sky box?"
"I don't have a Sky box".

God give me strength!
