Stephen Lewis, who played Blakey in On The Buses, was just 46 when they made the last programme. 20 years younger than Butler (Reg Varney).
Yeah, always puzzled me how those two grizzled old perverts managed to end up shagging all those young and attractive "Clippies", see also Sid James/Barbara Windors characters in Carry On films, though they did have thing in real life.Fastchas said:

If you wrapped a rope around the solar system, then another 1ft further out, the difference in lengths between the two ropes would be around 6ft.
The same would apply to a football - difference would be around 6ft.
What??The same would apply to a football - difference would be around 6ft.
The 2nd rope would have a circumference of Pi x (D+2)
Difference between the 2 ropes is Pi x 2 = 3.14159 x 2 = 6.28319 ft (to 5dp)
Replace Solar System with football and result is the same. Relative lengths however are a tad different...

Brilliant. I laughed way more at this than I should. I had to check it was real too, which made it even better Edited by Sycamore on Friday 12th January 09:11

Time travelling to the future is possible.
(All we need is a spaceship that can travel 186,000 miles per SECOND)
Not quite Time travel to the past is possible(All we need is a spaceship that can travel 186,000 miles per SECOND)
requirements
A vehicle travelling faster than light and the most powerful telescope ever thought of times a zillion!
Theory
Take off
you will then pass the light rays of your take off and then pass all the light rays from moments that occurred in the past when you left
You will only be able to witness them ,but not interact
To make it easier to understand ( i hope)
The light form some very distant stars is taking thousands of years to reach us, so what we are seeing now, happened those thousand of years ago
In fact some of the stars my have exploded and 'died' but the light of that moment is still on its way to us
sorry if it sounds stoopid but in theory, and only theory

100% correct, although it doesnt seem possibleThe same would apply to a football - difference would be around 6ft.
And another one
If you drive twice around a half mile circular track and take one minute to do it.you cannot go fast enough in the second lap to average 60 mph for the total distance.

I think I'm right in saying that Clive Dunn played Corporal Jones in Dad's Army, one of the older characters was in reality, one of the youngest members of the cast.StevieBee said:
