Skinny Jeans - anyone succumbed?
Discussion
When skinny jeans came out many years ago now, most shops did both Skinny and normal and I expeted it to be a fashion cycle that would fade. However years later, and it seems Skinny has totally taken over.
Went to usual high street shops over weekend, Zara H&M(onkey) and so on, and all they do is skinny jeans or even skinnier jeans I'm tall and have the legs for it but having grown up in an era were women wore skinny, and men worse looser, I am still of the politically incorrext views of these items and gender.
Can anyone name same places/brands that still sells fashionable jeans? Don't want the bland Jeans Clarkson look.
Also curious as to whether anyone older than their early twenties has given in and gone skinny?

Gap do something for everyone, from skinny through to standard.
Never thought I'd say this, but I purchased a pair of stretch jeans from there recently. Absolutely fantastic. Was fed up with buying jeans that looked spot on, only to end up tearing the arse out of them every time I did something remotely energetic. The stretch ones are identical to normal jeans, but with just a little bit of give in them, so much more comfortable too. I'm getting old.

I'm too old (43) for the skinny jean fad but I am into jeans. I tend to buy Nudie or Edwin. Nudie have a range of different fits such as Grim Tim, Average Joe, etc. Your best bet is to try a a few pairs on as they do a few skinny/slim fit ranges so you know what looks best. If they are too pricey, eBay has loads on if you don't mind used. I think new, the cheapest are around £85 upwards but you can grab a nice pair for £20 on eBay.
I have a limited edition (number 314 of 1000) Oi Polloi rainbow stitch pair pretty much as new going if you're keen. £200 and they're yours... ;-)

Never, just bought anther pair of Levi 501
I've just got my first pair of Levi jeans yesterday. They are rather comfortable and nice. I haven't got the legs for skinny jeans...Skinny jeans on women can look nice...however watching them try and take them off is fantastic. Hard not burst out laughing!
Edwin jeans are terrific. I got rid of all my other makes of jeans once I discovered them.
ED-55's are probably what you're after.
Tapered but not skinny fit.
Here's the size guide. The higher the number the skinnier the fit

I recently picked up a pair of 7 For All Mankind "Slimmy" fit jeans which are a perfect fit for me. I'm a 34" waist with a reasonably chunky arse and thighs but bought a 33" in these and they aren't skin-tight or too baggy either. Just a really good shape and very comfortable thanks to their 2% elastane content.
I wish I'd bought a couple more pairs when I was in America as they're twice the price over here.

Also try Scotch and Soda and Replay jeans.
Do not buy skinny, they’re for teens and frustrated 20 something musos.
Slim is where you are, never skinny

Slim fit are a great compromise. They look great, and you won't look like you're having a MLC, or trying to be 21 again.
Replay do stretch jeans called Hyperflex. They are the most comfortable pair of jeans you will ever wear.
