OK, I already own two of them, one auto and one quartz. I have the smaller 45mm versions, and think they are well put together watches. I am seriously considering a third, as I just love the canteen crown guard. Please talk me into it, or talk me out of it

Thanks

Well made and huge, if you like them go for it.
I find them a bit too brash and big for my taste, much like Diesel watches.

Well, I didn't end up buying the one I was looking at, but I still have an eye half open

Have you considered U-boat? They make similar style watches but imho much nicer quality.

I don’t like them personally, but so what?

I have a U Boat homage as it happens, but the real thing costs as much a car. Believe me though, the TW Steel watches a VERY well made.

Yes, U-Boat are very expensive compared to TWS, albeit very similar in appearance. My comment wasn't meant to be flippant, so whilst I'm sure someone will be along shortly to show that they spent all morning proving that a U Boat is only 8 times dearer and not 10 times dearer, as an approximate guide the "add a 0" comment isn't a million miles out.

Yep.

First up my auto TW Steel with an auto NH35 movement. MRP is £475

This is the closest I could find for the U Boat MRP £4690

Have you looked at the original Russian naval watches made by ZLATOUST?

I've now got x7 TW Steel watches, and all are their Limited Editions. Both the manufacturer & their UK importer are great to deal with, and all of the watches are superbly well built. One brilliant aspect is there's a company based in Holland who make a huge selection of watch-straps (rubber, silicone, & leather) specifically for TWS, & so for just a few pounds, you can keep totally changing the 'look' of your watch(es). I've no association whatsoever with TWS - I just love all of their 'variations' - which don't come at ludicrous prices.

Yep, like I said I have two, and think they are great. I bought a quartz one from Amazon at a great price, but after adjusting the bracelet I noticed it wasn't working. Rather than the hassle of sending it back, I carefully changed the battery, and it works great. Whilst undergoing the change, I noticed printed on the back was "CHINA". This makes absolutely no difference to me, but some WIS's would hate that !!
