my commute has changed and now if I drive I am looking at either snake or woodhead pass most days. Anybody else have to do this in Winter?? Some brown trouser moments already and it's only week 3.

they do yea. The Glossop information site is very comprehensive on all the info to help people make the decision to use if the route is open. I went on the other day and it was fine except a few very hairy patches indeed, as in more or less dry roads but then you'd round a bend at 50mph and hit a 75 yard patch of lying snow.

I used to try and do the Snake or Woodhead round robin in Winter, i've given up now and just sit on the motorway across and then down to Sheffield. Boring and slightly un-pistonhead like but i feel on balance it's the right decision.
