These guys might be able to help:

http://www.ironladyimports.com/

I looked at this for exporting boxsters to Oz - but the taxes, costs and whatnot made for thinner margins than I would like.

I should imagine they will have an idea of costs for the other way round....

Kingstown shipping should be able to help you .. remember getting the car to port can be expensive so bare this in mind before your tempted to buy something miles from where it could be shipped from !!! costs will be the shipping and duties and VAT added to the value of the car ... I would guess about £2000 for the shipping then 10% duty and 20%VAT

OP Does you dad live in Australia? I thought you wanted to import into the UK. That site appears to be only for importing to Australia (which from recollection is really, really difficult if you have a classic car as the authorities out there have taken a dislike to older cars).

If the vehicle is older than 10 years, there are no import restrictions. However check with a vehicle importer first (google will find them for you).

I thought about importing my 2001 S15 200sx... but it would have never passed a MOT being modified the way it was and was absolutely suicidal to drive in the rain.

With importing into Australia, you have to own the vehicle for 12 months in the UK first whilst living here. Aside from that it needs to be permitted thorough the specialist or low volume import schemes, which excludes most cars that were sold in Australia.

The whole thing has been set up to protect Australian importers and manufacturers and keep the Australian public ripped off by them. If you could import Porsches, Mercs, BMW's, et al. it would be cheaper then buying them in Oz (BMW M240i in the UK £36,000, in Australia A$80,000 which is £45,000 sans options).

I believe there's a much reduced rate for stuff of "historical interest" or what have you, worth investigating.

These guys can give you an instant quote, inc. duty etc. Never used them but if nothing else it'll give an indication of price.
