Our pooch loves going to the beach, so we took her to Aberdaron Bay today.

The route took us past the Tryweryn Reservoir near Bala, and it looked half full! This is in North West Wales which has seen more rain than most in the last two months.

BTW, the A4412 is a fantastic driving road driving

Signs of super heat have dissipated. So we're looking at low 30s for the SE this week.

Looking forward, low pressure never too far away off the coast of Ireland but a strong high pressure block should hold it back. It might have some effects on Ireland and W Scotland. That pattern will drive a few more Spanish Plumes northwards

Just enjoyed the afternoon at the open air lido in Reading. Who would have thought an outdoor pool would work so well in the UK!?

Friday is the day to keep an eye on this week for the hottest day of the year. Probably around London, as usually for plume events.

Met Office have issued an amber heatwave alert for this week. This is a signal to health organisations, rather than a weather warning.

Chores out of the way early this morning, dogs flaked out, shady spot with a bit of breeze to make a few phone calls and catch up on some paperwork.

Delivery of wood this afternoon.

It's too hot for me at work. I can't be arsed. Perfectly fine for being at home of course.

Took this in East Suffolk earlier today. Never sure how accurate these car temperature gauges are but it was certainly scorchio out there today.

Car temps are only accurate if it’s parked fully in a shaded place for a considerable time. Otherwise heat soak from the sun will increase temps. Asphalt and concrete can give big temp increases when the sun is in them.

Temps should be air temp only, not the temp in sunshine.
