Just spent the last 40 minutes with the house in darkness watching a spectacular lightning show.

Very little thunder, sky as black as coal, torrential rain & muggy as hell.

Cleared up now & barely a cloud in the sky.
Same here, raining hard though, almost sounds like hail.

There's a lot more heading your way! Hammering the New Forest now. I'm on the edge of it but there is a constant rumble and flashing!

Pah, all the exciting stuff is happening on the south coast. Looks like we'll get naff all up here on the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire borders.

Real hum dinger of a storm /s here north of Winchester been going for an hour or so now. Even opened the bedroom windows to enhance the effect - wife thinks I’m nuts.

Quite a spectacular show over Kendal earlier. Eight big rumbles, clear, forked strike 1 mile or so Nor Noreast.
20 minute cloudburst, Sky died for 5 mins, then a few distanr desultory grumbles. Fresh now.

Fantastic thunder, lightening and rain currently in Surrey, the last time I saw rain like this was Thailand in October last year.

Yup. Had a very good light show at Port Solent tonight from about 7:30. Not much rain except for a downpour from 7:45 (as I type it is kicking off again) but lots of flashing and some banging too all evening. Buggered up the four of us walking to the restaurant this evening - had to take a car for what would have been an 800metre soaking walk around the marina.

Big storm last night in West Berks. I got an early night and in spite of being an incredibly heavy sleeper it woke me up. Incredible lightning! Now a lovely, calm morning.

See the green gap between the massive blob over Southampton and the smaller one to the east? That's where I am. frown We were also a bit disorganized yesterday and went out just before the rain hit with waterproofs but no suncream. Feeling a bit crispy today. banghead

Was right in the middle of that, just below Southampton. First storm that hit around 7pm wasn't too bad but the second at around 10pm was very impressive, well it was till I fell asleep half way through it.
