For the people who make their own liquid...

How easy is it to get really nice flavoured liquid?
My favourite is six licks, love bite but at £23/100ml it's just too expensive and all the cheap stuff from shops just has a dull taste.

Are there obvious things to try to try and emulate the same flavours?

Just wondering, has there been any discussion on here about the short/long-term effects of vaping?

The fact its relatively new, there's no REAL certainty on the long-term effects of what vaping is doing to the body.
Having been vaping for about 3 weeks now, I can see the appeal, expecially for those that are able to give up smoking cigerettes with it, but it does worry me of what it is I'm taking into my lungs, and what the possible effects will be in the future.
It's a really interesting point.

One of the drivers for me to move to Juul (a product backed by 'whiter than white' PMI) is that I wanted to at least have consistency over where my liquid was coming from.

Too often I'd be buying liquids as 'distress purchases' or trying something new, and it never occurred to me to check their provenance.

Given the lack of real industry controls or long-term science on the effects, I'm willing to bet I put some pretty horrid stuff in my vape/lungs over time.

Even though Juul/PMI may be no better, at least the backing of a large multinational should make any health concerns more transparent and more of a priority/liability for them. Or perhaps I'm being too optimistic.

That's kind of where my head is at.

Even though they are making LOADSAMONEY out of it, a class action litigation (in the event that it had significant health risks) would completely wipe the company out in this day and age.

This was May...

It's not as if we've not seen this before, smoking, alcohol, drugs, legal highs... the restrictions will come, and I'd bet flavours will be one of the first.
This is September...

Anyone want to see what an exploding chargable vape battery will do to your leg?

Not for those with a weak stomach... and yes, its my leg

Lesson i learnt is don't carry round batteries or mods in your pocket.

Nasty, hope it doesn’t cause any problems and it heals soon.

What mod/batteries did you have btw?

Vaperessa armour pro mod

Samsung batteries.

The battery was separate to the mod when it exploded, my own fault, shouldn't have been carrying it around by itself. Not posting for sympathy, just to share in hope it stops others from being an idiot like me.

Samsung have posted on their website that their batteries shouldn't be used in vapes. Ill try and dig it out, its not easy to find.

Edit - cant find the specific posting by samsung but this is all good advice - https://be-cigarettesafe.org/

Obviously too late for me tho

Swampy really sorry to hear about your leg. I wish people would buy and use battery cases, they are cheap.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/TOOGOO-Plastic-Battery-Pr...

I always keep mine in one and put some tape round them so I can pair them so they get used and charged together.

I posted a while ago that I had a battery explode in my pocket - and have the scar to prove it.

Whipped it out and it promptly rolled under my low-slung car.... right under the petrol tank. I though for a moment that this might have been my last moments on earth - but gardening gloves were immediately to hand and I lobbed, what was now doing a good impression of a Roman Candle, into the garden.

I no longer carry naked batteries in my pocket.....

Whenever I hear one of these stories about a battery exploding I always look to see what mod was being used and it always comes back to loose batteries.

I admit I was naive when I first started vaping and I played about with unregulated mods, when I didn't really know what was doing. One I had was the Kamry k1000 pipe. I thought I was ok as i was using pre-made coils in a Nautilus tank. But a couple of times the connection was not right and i melted the spring that held up the battery (maybe a safety feature). I don't use them anymore.

I think it is because a loose battery can touch a metallic object like keys or coins. That cause the battery to react like its not supposed to. I don't know a huge amount about it but the battery gets super heated and needs to vent/explode, I think its called thermal runaway

If you are worried/interested then suggest you ask on a vape forum liike http://ukvapers.org/

I suspect it's the consequence of a dead short. It could be keys/coins or an issue with battery's casing. However, as the plastic cases seem to stop it, it could be that rattling around unprotected in a pocket etc is contributary.

Exactly as posted above.

In my case I had a loose battery and some car keys - boom!

I now put them in a rubber condom thing.

Nice.

I had cargo shorts in, one pocket with keys, another with battery...

Sat on the toilet... contact was made...the rest is history.

Sounds like a short, releasing a lot of energy in a short time from a battery not designed for high discharge.
