From the early 90's to the late 00's I spend a lot of time in the US and use to notice large numbers of very overweight people over there compared to the UK.I then had a 10 year break before spending three weeks over there in Jan & Feb.
To my eyes the contrast is far less these days. I don't know if they have sorted out their obesity epidemic but we are certainly seem to be trying very hard to catch up.

You do know that that stuff really doesn’t matter? Plenty of children have a father unable to attend sports day or who work overseas for long periods of time. You do understand that you switch into ‘massive hysterical old queen’ on the back of a few trigger words relating to children? You do appreciate that it’s you who has the deep issue over this subject and that you will keep going on and on and on about some form of evil abandment on any thread where someone dares not to be with their children every second of every day, smothering them and stopping them from growing up into well rounded and self sufficient adults? I spilt my time between the UK and Hong Kong throughout the year with work/family and everytime I come back to the UK, I am absolutely disgusted how much landwhales there are in the UK. In HK, where food is cheaper you'd think the women over there would end up just like the landwhales in Western developed countries.. it's a rare sight to find obese people or even close over there.
People in the East must be doing something right. In the West, the SJWs have highjacked the debate and brainwashed a ton of girls here that it is ok to shove copious amounts of junk food/drinks and making them believe that big is beautiful.

I blame Lycra and stretch jeans. Jeans should stop at max size 14. All others should be dressed in a shroud/tent of some kind a la Dawn French. I just don't want to see rolls of fat contained within a mysterious material. It's still there you know sweetie! The least you could do is hide it from me! Puts me right off my Greggs bean pastie. Maybe that's what you were after? There is no shame nowadays!
Survival of the fittest is now survival of the fattest. I'm not a chubby chaser myself and I don't get men that are (weirdos). I like my women to be evolutionarily correct in their build. ie. slim and capable of outrunning at least a wild boar to get back to the cave, light the fire and cook the wild boar that I killed that was chasing them. My lady is 6 foot and could probably outrun a gazelle, she is evolutionarily a step up, the great leap forward, she doesn't even have underarm hair! Perhaps I'm lucky?
