I really struggle to type 'the' and my fingers usually produce 'teh' although I do know how to spell it correctly.

Using brought instead of bought seems to confuse so many people on car websites.

Manoeuvre and haemorrhage are two I have to think about.

Luckily I don't have much cause to use either of them day-to-day.

Me too. Very often the spell checker doesn't know wtf I'm trying to spell and have tried google and that can't help either, I've even struggled to find words in the dictionary. The annoying thing is I can spot spelling mistakes a mile off, but don't necessarily (that took two attempts to spell correctly) know what the correct spelling is, just that it's wrong.

There are a few words I just can't get my head into, changing old habits (which I imagine stem from other words taking a similar pattern), such as beech (beach!) and defiantly (definitely). Writing it is no problem, so it's got to be muscle memory with typing (I'm in IT too, so type a lot). I've been known to set my password to the word with stuff on the end to try and reset my memory, as I type it so often, it's helped.

I've also been known to type a completely different word and I am thinking another, I think that comes down to muscle memory on the keyboard too.

My spelling is reasonably good, but now when I write things I often start the word halfway through - so to write "spelling" i'll write "elling" and then have to go back and fill in "sp" at the start.
God knows what that's all about... I don't do the same when im typing on a keyboard. Its only begun in recent years - of course, now I rarely write...

I'll nominate 'loose' as the most misspelled word on PH.
If you then point out the error, allegations of 'Grammar Nazi' quickly follow although often written as Grammer!
It is very irritating.
I think advice just pips it "I am after some advise........"

Also bought "I brought a.........and am after some advise"

Based on some of the posts in here lately, 'lose' seems to be beyond some people.
