I’ve just been physiotherapied. Who knew bending one’s knee less than 45° could smart so much? It wasn’t even damaged in the accident or any surgery.

I need a lie down.

The local Chinook is grounded currently due to NIMBYS not liking the row it makes.

Pushfit did mention his LM trip ,so that's at least 3 of this parish present with GOG braving a trip avec V8 wedge shaped Trevor.
The GOG has returned.
I have had an interesting trip, I got as far as silverstone on the way down to Pompey when a T piece in my cooling system finally got bored of being a T and decided to be a straight pipe instead. This had the unfortunate side effect of my dumping all my coolant, It is a little scary to see your temperature gauge go from normal to OMG turn the engine off in about 20 seconds. I realised very quickly what had happened and equally quickly realised I could do bugger all to fix it where I was. Luckily when the nice recovery man turned up an hour or so later he was very confident that he could do a bodge temporary fix to get me to LM and back. With a masterful use of a bit of pipe robbed off a bit of his kit, some superglue and some high temp silicon it was fixed, he bled it and it was all good, I made my ferry and met up with my mates. because there were a number of us in a variety of cars and 1 motorbike we just agreed a rendezvous for lunch and set off. Unfortunately the lad on the bike ran out of talent and dropped it on a nasty tightening corner and did a fair amount of damage to the bike.So after the recovery picked it up and took it back to Caen we managed to move some kit around and I gained a passenger for the rest of the trip down. We had a pretty good time, watched a bit of racing, drank a lot of beer, I might have upset a policeman by driving through the tunnel by the Tertre Rouge bar a tad noisily normal sort of stuff really. My original plan was to stay on houx annex sunday evening as my friends were all heading off, half of them to the ferry and half of them to a Yurt about 50 miles away, but I was invited to go stay in the yurt which was an experience, from there my fielnds headed off for the tunnel and I had a day to kill before the last ferry so I pootled up to the Caen memorial which is a very good, if slightly depressing museum, then as I still had plenty of time I went to go look at the Mulberry harbour at Arromanches.

Can we (I of course mean you) get a non local Chinook? Or something local but less “Chinooky”?

I've had to MTFU a bit, well quite a lot actually ,and booked next road trip.

I've reverted to plan B,didn't want to pay €100s in tolls,so LM Classic is out,boo .

Other stuff is in.....YAY.....
You dont need to pay tolls to get to LeMans.
You can do the whole trip on D roads, get to enjoy the countryside and the scenery, stop off for a coffee and croque, never see a copper and have much more pleasurable run

I forgot to mention, the motorcyclist refused all attempts to try and get him to go to hospital in France but I nagged at him to go when he got back as he headbutted the road and ruined his helmet, he wore a hole through the jacket of his sleeve sliding down the road and his right hand looked like 2lb of sausages. I was convinced he had broken the base of his thumb but he just didnt want to go hospital. He is having surgery to the base of his thumb imminently.

Is Dibble up or down ?
Yes.

And no.

A bit of both really, a bit up and down as is to be expected with a person in his position.

Physically down, mentally up. And at the other end of the speculum, a bit like a yo-yo.

With a twisted string.

Bobbers said he got him down, but he must have been hallucinating again. wobble

Dibble us definitely right up there, inverted, be straddling the dicky bird atop the steeple.

I hope the approaching thunderstorm veers off to one side, he wouldn't want a lightning strike in his present location. It could cause problems with his undercarriage.

Is that Chinook on its' way, Dicky?.

Exciting stuff eh? A copper chopper rescue bid is imminent!

It has been reported that there is an outbreak in the area. It leaves yer leaves all browny spotted and wrinkled.

A good dousing with derris dust should do the trick of deterring the deadly disease.

Hold on chaps I have a cunning plan, whilst a cherry picker would be ideal I'm not sure if we can get one here soon enough, the harpoon idea has it's merits but all we'll end up with is a load of harpoons in/around/through Dibble, no what we need is a fool proof way of releasing the jammed block and tackle and returning him to earth, preferably intact, so how about we send Penrose up with a pair of garden shears to cut the rope and we all stand under Dibble with one of Mrs Brassingtons freshly starched bed sheets, there's what, six of us available, I'm sure that's enough to support the weight of a portly wheelchair wearing Dibble!!!!! yes

The high toll cost isn't the main reason why I'm not going to LM Classic.
I wasn't feeling the love for it.
I would have been approaching from the other direction, where tolls are even higher.
Ferry is booked now,so not changing.
I will be coming back as LM Classicos are leaving.......waveybyebyewaveybyebyewavey

Right I am returned from yet another episode, in this one I dreamt I'd rescued Dibble using the spare bed from the guest wing and lobbing Dibble down on that, I now see I am grossly mistaken as he now appears to impaled (Oooohh nasty) on the weather cock, by his,uh, bits!!! So the new plan involves using something Chinook like but not a Chinook cos it's too Chinooky!!! At this point I would normally point at Bomma and say "That's your department old chap", so OI BOMMA!!!

The real problem preventing the satisfactory recovery of Bobbers is we aren't dressed for it. We all turn up informally dressed and frankly could be anyone. From now on anyone involved should attend the rescue site in their Dress Uniform. It's about decorum. Poor chap doesn't want to be rescued by a rabble now does he?

As I watched the World Cup all day, my fitness tracker is minus 5 miles. And plus 800 calories and down a few hundred steps.burgercloud9redcard
