Assume auto?
No laptop needed.
But there is a much care needed to set the correct level!
You’ll need to run it on a ramp for long enough to open the thermostat and then you can finish the top up

have you got the workshop manual? ( if you haven't message me and i will send the appropriate page) ,theres a section under transmission that outlines the operation, if you want to change the filter which is a replacement auto sump pan ZF part and the ZF lifeguard 6 fluid (i got 7 ltrs) from euro car parts just give them your reg number. also get a LASER MULTI PURPOSE OIL SYRINGE 1.5L LITRE this will make filling a doddle.
the manual says remove the R/H exhaust section so you can get an allen key to the drain plug , I shortened an 8mm allen key (by about 10mm) and that
saved me removing the exhaust. your also going to need a way to measure the temprature of the sump.
If you do the filter theres one bolt you cant get off without removing the thermostat, the thermostat pipes on the side of the trans have to be removed along with the thermostat, when i did mine the tube nuts on the metal pipes were quite stiff as they had lightly corroded to the pipes, give them a gentle wire brush and a bit of penetrating oil they should be ok. have fun!!
