I left my local Vue 15minutes into a film this evening. Three blokes just wouldnt shut up talking, plus they where taking photos with the flash, flashing away which was bloody distracting, I just got up and left as i knew it would get worse. All the Vue Manager could do was refund me the ticket, she cant kick them out as they have no security. Why do people do this?? theyve paid out to go watch a film fking watch the film and shut up.

I try and pick unpopular times to watch films in the cinema - late nights on weekdays or first showings on weekends. Tends to cull out a lot of the people who think it perfectly reasonable to snapchat, instagram, or otherwise fk around with social media while everybody else is trying to watch the film.

Remember seeing a bloke get kicked out of The Martian when he got pissed off with the teeny boppers in the row in front of him taking selfies with the flash on, so he grabbed one of their phones and launched it across the room hehe

The young Odeon rep was met with a lot of boos and some popcorn thrown at him when he came to remove the bloke (not unusual for SW London) and leaving the girls in situ. Thankfully they didn't piss about again, but Odeon refunded everybody that came to complain about the disruption. I originally had no idea what was happening, too busy sat at the back of the cinema with a mate pouring her hip flask of whiskey into our cokes, but when presented with the opportunity to refund our £30 or whatever it was, job done.

Not against 3 guys plus whoever else they would text to be waiting for me outside. Shame that we live in such a society now. Maybe I should try the 9am showing, most chavs will be still in bed/watching Jeremy Kyle.

We’ve an Everyman near us. Great cinema, actual staff around, and a generally very well behaved audience too that means that the staff rarely have to step in to deal with any problems.

If there’s one near you I would, recommend giving them a try.

I refuse to go to the regular cinema here, it's either the Premier or IMAX, Premier has about 40 seats, all large leather recliners with a waiter service, IMAX is a bit more expensive so people usually pay attention.

The last time I was in the same theatre as the dross it was terrible, seemed to be gossip and selfie central.

Plenty of online portals to watch films.

All in the comfort of your own home.

Everyman's great, plenty of space big sofa with tables for your drinks, wine and beer at pub prices but you fetch from the bar rather than table service.

I think you can take bar food through as well but nobody does, thank goodness.

You took along your own drinks, sent even notice the disturbance, and then opportunistically claimed a refund?

10am Sunday showings are where it's at. These kinds of people are still hungover in a hedge somewhere at this time

haha exactly this!!

Trouble is with people like that, you know that if you went over and asked (politely or otherwise) it would just escalate. Poor show that the cinema wouldn't do anything about it though. I remember back in the day seeing people thrown out of the cinema for being obnoxious.

Slightly off topic - my proper works offices are being refurbed so we have been moved to alternative offices in the centre of Leeds while it's being done - next to the Merrion Centre for those that know Leeds. It's an eye opener for sure - streets rammed with utter scrotes and doley pissheads, yet curiously move 200 yards away in either direction and the demographic changes completely.

Anyway - if you fancy a McDonalds breakfast if you go in there at 9 til 10 am after most people have gone to work it's empty - perfect. All the dole scrotes are still in bed. As per skinnyman's cinema goers.

I'm actually all for incarcerating these kind of people and making them work for their cider - I couldn't give a flying fk about their civil liberties or human rights. What about everyone elses rights?

It's come to something when "normal" people have to rearrange their habits to avoid the selfish, self-entitled types that seem to represent a good proportion of the public these days.

Sometimes Its best to just leave and complain and wait for DVD.

I once, very loudly told the person behind me to stfu with their sweet wrappers. I didn't look to see who was doing it, just to stfu. It worked a treat and we enjoyed the rest of the film. Get up to leave and it's a small group of Down Syndrome kids enjoying a day out.
Ever since then I've let noisy people be noisy.

Mid afternoon on a Saturday, to watch Jumanji (the new version is surprisingly enjoyable). 10 or 11 year old girl's birthday party. One of the many invited children had seen it before, so thought nothing of generally being noisy, but also loudly giving the plot away. There was one adult 'in control' who couldn't give a toss. Only Mrs Puggit and I stood up to this child, and some threats to get the whole party chucked out eventually held sway.

Very proud that our own kids (who are the same age) were disgusted with this behaviour.

Add to that the constant rustling of popcorn, sweet bags, crunching of nachos. Arrrggghhhh.

Used to go to the local Vue cinema of a Sunday afternoon with my daughter when she was younger. Bit of bonding time whilst mummy rustled up the dinner. Had to pack it in in the end as it was way to stressful. People just don't know how to behave. I'd have to tell some little scrote off most times which upset my daughter.

Found Everyman in the end. More money but enough to keep the chavs out. The big chains really need to keep an eye on this as it must be denting attendance levels.
