Very quick introduction!

Always wanted one. Never could justify one.

A toddler and a new baby due figured roll the dice, go all in and bank the memories not the cash.

I am in the process of turning this 2013 ex Miele service van

Into this...

Just some odds and ends to tidy up and it’s done.
Mixture of some DIY, some off the shelf parts, some custom parts... but far more personality than most of the stuff I could find for sale

If there’s enough interest I can do a full build breakdown. Figured PH is a diverse church ??

OK, give us a full breakdown. I have been thinking similarly.

It’ll take a while!

Luckily with paternity leave looming I’ll have some time shortly!

Are you going to colour code the bumpers?

I kinda hope not...along with keeping the steelies. I have a couple of mates with pimped up campers running ridiculous alloys and they never look right in my eyes.

Nope!

I wanted to keep it subtle , don’t want to go down the line of sportline kits and 20” wheels like 99.34% do

Outside bar some small bits is done.

Coilovers
18” steel wheels

That’s it beer

Nope! Deepest Kent.

The tartan is a reference to original westfalia trim

Loving the steelies look with coilovers and the red paint.

Though i might be biased.....

Looks brilliant.

I've just completed a self build on a similar T5.1 and had the first week away a couple of weeks ago. I'm now about to start on the outside (colour coding etc.).

Good luck - I really enjoyed doing ours, although some frustrating times as well!

I’ve only some minor wiring to finish and some snagging - it’s been a long , and as you say, sometimes frustrating process

Interested to know where you got it from - presumably there are businesses selling on various AA etc vans?

Mine came from a dealer on autotrader who tbh didn’t know what they had and underpriced it.

The big companies that buy the de-fleet stock add a decent % margin on. If you have time to spare you can hunt out a cheaper one sometimes

Love a build thread. Finished my conversion from a panel van a month or 2 ago.
So far we've used it most weekends, we love it.

From going to Cornwall, to a wedding 100 miles away, £15 for a pitch and that's it, and just got back from camper calling.
Best money we've spent, even if I have got alittle carried away

Looks great.

I've had caravans for years but always wanted a campervan.

Maybe when kids don't want to holiday with us anymore.

Think these are best for just 2 people (plus 1 small one of course) TBH.
