Nice video and good to see HC continuing to put out good content on top of his manual GT3 vid. Precious little of it around these days.
Agreed, JWW and the like can only dream of producing content of this quality.Car looks pretty awesome as well, I've got to say though 207k list is big money for a 911.
I know there is plenty of profit in it after list , however in the normal world of depreciation I wonder how many would spend that much on a 911?
Seems I am not alone in thinking it sounds more interesting than the 3 / thought I was going crazy at the time - never thought I would say this, but when they were going by at full chat I thought it was actually the better sounding car
I kinda want one - but in Germany they were something like 320k list with Weissach, which is just so much money / too rich for me

Always interesting to hear people’s thoughts.
I’ve done 3k in mine now including 3 trackdays. Whilst I like the car, it’s not one I’ve fallen in love with.
2 of the positives mentioned in the review I struggle to agree with.....suspension and noise.
The suspension for the roads near me at least is far to stiff and the car really struggles to find any composure at even moderate speeds. As for the noise, I personally think they sound terrible. They make a lot of noise but that’s all it is. There’s no music/theatre to it.
It’s a car I really wanted to love but 6 months on with a decent level of use I still haven’t found any love for it unfortunately.

Try dropping your tyre pressures down. Had mine for 6 months too but its a different beast at 1.9/2.2 cold, far more composed and less fidgety, not quite at 720 levels but then it has more character. Yes agree quite sensitive to pressures and I have same settings 1.9/2.2 and, whilst clearly firm, it rides fine for a 700 hp car. Have a friend who has been in gen 2 3RS and he says if anything that car feels firmer. Unlike a lot of modern cars you do need to be awake when pushing on too. Agree with HC, it sounds great, an angry throb reminiscent of a nutter turbo rally car at idle that gets deep and bassy as the revs rise and with added theatre from the turbos spoiling up. Had so many great drives already including 3000 miles around Europe and the Alps.

I’ve tried lowering the tyre pressures. It certainly helps. As an overall package it just isn’t for me though. The way the car feels and sounds is critical to its enjoyment and that’s the 2 key areas I personally don’t get on with.
I’m massively in the minority though as most people love them.......even the sound.

Fair enough. Good thing is there is so much choice of cars to suit every subjective taste!I’m massively in the minority though as most people love them.......even the sound.
Would seem a bit odd if we all liked the same things. Whist I had great fun in a 91RS in over 40 track days. The 2RS is for me on a completely other level of enjoyment. Like above very sensitive to being on the 29/33 Psi settings. Also needs a bit of set up for the track. But for me its like a fairground ride.

I loved the speed of the GT2 RS but for me your GT3 was on rails and so well set up and balanced it was a joy to be in.I’m glad HC has said it’s his first choice, because I’ve been saying that ever since I had a go in the GT2. It is so much faster than my GT3 and just feels so much more responsive and a totally higher car sensation.
I was disappointed when I got back in my GT3, and that difference carry’s on over to the new GT3RS. There seems little difference between my.2 GT3 and the new 3RS. But the GT2RS takes Porsche into the super car league!
Not to mention that I was six seconds a lap faster in the GT2RS round Oulton Park than in my GT3 and that was with my driving at 90 percent, because I did not want to think about the cost if I had a mishap.
Still, I love my GT3, like my wife, it always tries it’s best.

So do you think the GT3 is better than the GT3RS.?
It obviously is not, everyone with a GT3 would swop it for a GT3RS if they could have had that build slot.
HC probably can not afford a GT2RS or that level of 450k supercar.
It is a little bit like the wife analogy, I would like to take Rita Ora out to Manchester this weekend, in the Sky Bar then onto the Hilton. But I’m not in the Superstar League. So I will be happy to take my wife to the local three pints and Chicken in a basket, and tell myself “it does not get any better that this”
So you can keep telling yourself you’ve got a GT2RS beater!
Me, if I won the lottery, I would give the wife her share, buy a GT2RS, get into Manchester and find myself a supermodel, that matches my new super car!
🤪😝😋

On my reading HCs comment with regard to the GT3MT, is more to do with the connection that a manual box gives. No matter how good any PDK DCT is etc its never going replicate this interaction. But from my prospective having driven lots of 911s over the past almost 40 years, the 2RS for a road 911 is as good as it gets. Feel very lucky to own one.
