Perhaps best to speak to the manufacturer.

Is it a modern floor?

What kind of floor - planked t&g, herringbone, gaps, solid, engineered?

Also where in the house is it?

On my hallway herringbone new lay I applied 2pack cellulose based 10% sheen lacquer. I have also oiled and waxed floors in the past!

It is an engineered oak solid floor.
Failry good condition, it is in hallway lounge and dining room, total of 60 square meters.

We would use one coat of Bona primer, scrad pad the floor, Hoover off, apply one coat of Bona traffic, scrad pad, Hoover and a final coat of Bona traffic.
Never had any issues.

Personally I’ve found hard wax oil (Osmo polyx ) to give a nicer finish than lacquer (hard to describe - "richer" maybe) and easier to maintain - scratches are inevitable with any finish and the osmo maintenance oil makes most disappear with just a little oil on a cloth

Evening,
We have just purchased a house which has oak floors that we are getting restored sanding sealing and lacquer.
I am getting conflicting answers from the quotes I have received from tradesmen.
One trader is advising he will use Bona traffic HD but another is advising against it stating it can peel and he uses normal Bona and Junckers?

How many coats is sufficient? One is advising 3 and another 2?

appreciate any help
Lacquer base (primer coat, spirit or water base) plus 2 top coats

Osmo Hard Wax Oil (polyx) , 2 coats
