He has been quoted as saying in recent days that he is 'slipping away' and that he is 'near the end'. He has Parkinsons and Cancer IIRC. He's being very pragmatic about it all, good for him. Sadly I suspect he has months, not years. A great guy.

Yet on the Beeb it says:

“Sir Billy recently said his doctor expects him to live until 90 despite his diagnosis with Parkinson's, and has strongly rebuked claims by former TV chat show host Sir Michael Parkinson that his health was failing to such an extent that he was no longer able to recognise close friends.”

I’m somewhat confused about that too. He’s an absolute comedy genius, the best there ever has been. I do hope he has many more years yet.

He lives locally and I haven’t seen him around recently but still going as far as I know. Back in the day he was a bit of a legend for Saturday pub crawls around the various locals. Great chap to pass time with in a bar.

Sky TV has got to die eventually surely?
I don't know anything about the business, but just maintaining those satellites in space and those sports contracts must cost an eye watering amount of money?
They must be surviving on the fact that people haven't woken up to the fact they're big ripped off big time?

When BT got half the Premier League matches to broadcast, I don't recall Sky offering to reduce sports package costs since viewers were not getting what they'd paid for. Greedy.

Jimmy Hendrix? Did he play in James Braun's band? I know he formed his own band with Noel Reading. I think he may also have guested on one of Janice Joplin's records, and jammed with Bryan Jones, as well as being hugely respected by Eric Clacton.

My Aunt was diagnosed with Parkinson's. You really wouldn't have known for about 10 years, then she went downhill but still lived for another 5 years.
