Newcastle is not a moderate city. Nothing moderate about it.

The very exclusive (if there is such a thing) suburb of Hull in East Yorkshire, down the road from Assem Allen and Eddie Healy.

Hull around 250k

I'd think there were no more than twenty people within 1 mile in any direction of where I live. Which is ace by the way!!
Same here. 4 miles to the nearest bus stop. 5 to the nearest shop. Bliss!
Just my wife and I within a 2 mile radius (and a couple of thousand sheep). 10 miles to a bus stop, 12 to shop, pub, petrol station , but there's a post box about 8 miles away and a phone box about 2.
Only about 50 miles from one of the UK's capital cities though.

Just over 20,000 here, but its a regional centre of sorts so has the facilities of a much larger town.

Small Village in the Chew Valley (SW of Bristol). About 1500 people I'd think ?
Which village? I went to school at Chew, and still like the area.

Now in a beachside suburb but not sure if I should note it as a major city (c.5m) or as being at the arse end of the planet...

Not sure how to vote on this.

I live in Huddersfield which has a population of about 150K but then I live out in the Holme Valley which has a population of 35k in the postal town of Holmfirth which is just over 5k and then I live in a village just outside Holmfirth which has a population of about 1,250. confused

I have family in Holmfirth. Lovely village. They're Battye's too as in Nora! Been pished many times in the little boozer with the downstairs room. Those were the days!

Gawd blimey! I remember when there were just 500.
That's why it's been renamed Much Hadham. wink

5,066 at the last census means I'm in OP definition of a small town: Chipping Sodbury. Really quite like it here - near enough to Bath/Bristol and close to M4 junction means civilisation is within easy reach, but rather more relaxed and plenty of green countryside on the doorstep.

A village in Huddersfield, same as I live in a village in Huddersfield.
