In the time I worked on the IOM it was nice for 1 day and that was a Saturday it rained everyday for 3 weeks, normally I would have been home but all the flights were cancelled to the best part of everywhere (Bristol for me) due to snow. But to be fair I did get to wander around and be a tourist for the day.
Amazing pub crawl

Checking the forecast for my cycle home. Phone app has rain at 50% chance, BBC has it a 98% chance. Bit of a variance there eh? One saying nailed on cert to rain practical, the other saying there is as much chance of it not raining as there is.
Get the rain alarm app on your phone and you'll be able to see what is actually happening and what is coming. I find it pretty accurate and it is consulted before every cycle / dog walk / outside activity! addey said:

And gives you a head start finding a table inside if you're in the beer garden.addey said:

I installed rain app blue icon with a rain cloud and bell. No idea if that's the best or not.
That's the one I have. Useful to a point... It's quick to load, but compared to the netweather radar the accuracy is poor. I use it for a quick glimpse - but switch to netweather when I'm trying to see if a shower will hit, for example. Also netweather shows lightning - but has no alarm...There is a pro version of the app, with customisable options, such as the strength of rain and the distance away.

I take it that it's better than the met office app, does it get its data from other sources or is it that it updates more often? There is a pro version of the app, with customisable options, such as the strength of rain and the distance away.
