Next weekend not looking good at all. Just as schools end...
So next weekend from 21st and into the end of July, where is looking the best place in Britain? I'm looking to get away somewhere, nothing booked so want to follow the sun or warmth if not both.
I'm thinking England, middle to east would be the best bet.
Crossing my fingers that this doesn’t happen. Archery comps in the rain ain’t fun, especially when they’re half way up a Welsh mountain!

Here in guernsey we have had over 2 weeks of unbroken sunshine, probably even longer.
Similar here south of M4. My butts are empty as of tonight.

Not much rain in the Midlands either, some butt's empty, but 2 reserves come into play. wink

Must be a couple or three weeks since rain here, just north of Bristol.
My car's being detailed on Thursday, so that'll be the end of that.

Good stuff, a nice good splosh of rain. Hope it isn't fake news.

Actually, I dropped my Son and his Girlfriend off at Standstead much earlier and it was raining there, but not much.

Well, st.

Roll on Sunday.

I took my 3 year old to the playground on Saturday. After about 20 minutes or so, he clearly wanted to move on, and do something else. Couldn't make his mind up what to do, read in the face, clearly uncomfortable as it was bloody hot (mid 30's), so I asked if he wanted daddy to carry him home - 'YES'. fk. Walk a mile carrying 40lb of over heated kid, I was pretty much finished for the day when I got him home.

General trend showing some warming up towards end of next week, after the brief unsettled spell. Quite often the case at this time of year that great weather follows a passing low.

Models showing lots of different options for heat - so it's not nailed, just a good trend.

It’s been baking hot at work for weeks.

We finally get to the final day of term and associated evening shenanigans and it’s predicted thunderstorm and pissing rain.

bd weather.

It is flying ant day or at least a partial one. Plenty about but not the swarms of them I remember as a kid in the 70's.

Just checked the records at the Uni of Reading meteorological centre - last real rain here was 10th June redface

Looks like this week's rain is getting a little bit of a downgrade too <sigh>

Signs of a significant warm up next week. Models still can't decide on a route to the heat, but they're showing heat. So cautious optimism - starting Tuesday too.
