Rather contrarily this is probably explainable but interesting nonetheless.

I had a dream the other night and one of my mates ex girlfriends featured in it (nothing kinky matron) . Now the thing was I hadn’t seen her in 40 odd years and wouldn’t recognise her if I did.

The odd thing was I heard later see was in town a while back on a visit.

So the obvious explanation was I had seen her and subconsciously recognised her even though I wouldn’t have recognised her consciously.

I’m sure a lot of you have things that have happened that you couldn’t explain.

I had a dream when I was growing up that I walked down to the beach and there was an oil rig being pulled in two directions by two ships. Which at the time made no sense.

Two days later, without any prior announcement, an exploration rig parked off the coast held in place by three tugs, so looked exactly like what I saw in my dream.

To this day I can't explain that one.

I always get some sort of strange daija vu, but in the dream it will be a normal day and then something awful will happen, but then I go though a similar expenriance and the awful thing doesn’t happen

One was where I was out walking the dog and a certain car went past, and the dog got hit by the car, then il be out walking the dog and the same kinds of car will go by but nothing will happen

I once had a dream of an airliner crashing. It was so vivid I woke up and couldn't sleep again so went down stairs to watch the TV. Of particular note was that when it hit the ground there was no explosion but a huge plume of mud.

Couple of days later a Value Jet DC9 crashed into the Everglades in Florida.

I had told the Mrs about the dream that day. Not dreamt of crashing aircraft since. Uncanny coincidence.

Like the OP. I'll think about something, and then something connected will happen later in the day. Lets say I suddenly think of dolphins in a seapark. The next day there'll be a news story with dolphins in a sea park. This seems to happen often. but I can't suss out why. I've even pointed it out to friends! It's never anything THAT important though. just odd coincidence

The original thought has to "pop" into my head. I cant actively think of it. Otherwise Id be all over the Euromillions hehe

Assuming I'm not psychic, laugh Is it the case that I subconsciously look for the thing after the fact. Or that like the OP I saw the thing previously but didn't realise

20 years ago I was on a beach near LA, and there was a Hippy type bloke meditating. About a dozen seagulls flew in and landed around him in a perfect circle. The other weird thing is he didn't so much as bat an eye lid. 'What the fk?!' was all I could muster.

One thing I can't explain:

My Porsche 993 never failed to start or did anything weird in all the years I had it, except for when it was driven to one particular MOT test centre. It would stall and refuse to restart until it was pushed outside and left for 20 mins or so.

Every single time it was taken to this particular garage, it would refuse to start, but never ever anywhere else.

Not at any other MOT testing places either. No mechanic or auto-electrician could ever offer a single explanation. Very strange.

As for the posters above experiencing Deja Vu, or dreaming of something and then actually seeing it, there is a simple explanation. It is a processing error in the brain, where the sight and sound you are experiencing gets accidentally and momentarily routed through the part of your brain the is responsible for replaying memories. So you experience what you are currently seeing coming via your memory bank, which instantly triggers a feeling that you have seen it before.

So to sum up, a glitch in your brain fools you into thinking you have already seen, dreamt, or experienced something, when you haven't.

I had an accident when I was 10 years old, badly injuring my toes in York City Centre.

My sister, 10 years older than me, was at home at the time and cried out in pain at exactly the same time as my accident. The pain was in the right foot in the same toes that I had injured.

Did you have a thing for her (romantic or just lust) back when you knew her? We dream partly because of unfulfilled wishes, and dreams are wish fulfilment. At least said Freud.

Sounds like synchronicity. In a nutshell - a pattern of meaningful coincidences.

And that would make sense. If in a few cases Id been talking to friends about something. And then hours later seen the same thing. And then mentioned it to them again confused

When i was very young my Aunty , who was in her last few months of terminal cancer came round for her last family Xmas dinner. After a few hours i started to complain to my mother that my nipples were sore. It has never happened before or since then and I don't think i comprehended that my Aunty had breast cancer.
