My office allows people to wear them (as long as they aren't cargos, or sports stuff). tailored/chino/jean shorts are fine for guys.

Has anyone bought any recently that are comfy, thin and light? any reccomnedations? stretch fit a bonus

Budget, not wanting to break the bank, so something cheap.. £10-15 max for each pair, the less the better. if it has stretch fit then even better as it makes it more comfy.

this is PH. so 90% of the posts may be on whether it's ok for men to wear shorts, the rest actually getting on with the topic at hand.

I give it ten minutes before someone suggests a brand of shorts that cost more than my entire shorts collection.

OP mentioned jean shorts. I presume jean shorts means Daisy Dukes.

Cue someone posting that pic of the short far hairy guy with the denim shorts riding up his arse whilst he looks wistfully back at the camera.

I wear shorts for work pretty much every day from May to September. Far comfier than trousers/jeans.

I've found Matalan Chino shorts to be the comfiest out of my collection and are fairly cheap

Obviously paired with a polo shirt / t-shirt and not the shorts-suit horror above.

This is what I do. Matalan have them all on sale at the moment for about £5 so you can get loads of pairs in budget

They allow it to test their staff. Don’t fall into the trap.

interesting. maybe ill give matalan a visit over the weekend. our office realised there's no need to be formal as we are not customer-facing. so people can be more casual. my usual attire is 'smart' jeans (that haven't been washed), plus a tshirt, sometimes a polo, as with many other ppl. sometimes i may wear all-black trainers, other times its all-white converse. but i don't think the trainers will suit the shorts, so ill have to think of something else.

I tend to buy all my shorts from Uniqlo nowadays.

Think they might be just over budget, but always found them to be good quality.

If he wore a slightly bigger rucksack, it wouldn't look too bad. It's just too small.

My dad had some pretty much like that

He would mow the lawn in them

I had a rough time at school because of it!

He also wore hitec trainers whilst doing so

As with short sleeve shirts, I find they have the opposite effect - as you are exposing more skin you heat up more quickly. Plus, no one wants to see bulging bks and hairy legs in the morning meeting.
