Lot of snobs in here, it’s bloody warm, wear shorts!

I found some decent ones in H&M that didn’t cost the Earth, thin, smart and a range of colours.

Some utter women in here. Who cares whats covering your legs? If it's warm, wear shorts. If your boss has a problem with it, ask how wearing shorts makes you any worse at your job. Then wear shorts anyway. It would be a brave boss to attempt any form of disciplinary action over a lack of lower leg covering in this day and age.

Cue someone posting that pic of the short far hairy guy with the denim shorts riding up his arse whilst he looks wistfully back at the camera.
If he wore a slightly bigger nutsack, it wouldn't look too bad. It's just too small.
Good grief.

Obviously it depends on where you work but I’d imagine most employers have dress codes that they enforce?

The problem with these threads is that someone who works in an environment or lives a lifestyle where shorts for some reason aren’t for them then cant imagine people living completely different lives where shorts are entirely appropriate and look great.

exactly.
its just clothing at the end of the day. One of the managers at my workplace wears shorts exclusively once the weather gets hot...and he has pink shorts too! does anyone care? no.

The only real issue with wearing shorts at work isn’t the shorts or whether it looks odd (it doesn’t) but what shoes you wear with them...

Deck shoes?

Just wear a skirt. I find them to be far more cooling.

A thousand humble apologies to all the PH Gok Wans for wearing shorts at work, but I wear Next skinny-fit, black denim jobs.

I just cut holes in my trousers at the ass cheeks to allow for ventilation, everyone in my office turns green with envy when they see me from behind!

GAP 10" khaki shorts are great, really comfortable. Grab them in a sale or plenty of vouchers around to bring them down to your price point. Picked a few pairs up for between £12-18 at a GAP outlet last week.

I think the OP should really aim for "Imperial Leisure" though

Gap and Massimo Dutti for me for work as they're cheap and look/are decent quality.

Username and image compatibility.

Aldi have some £2.99 ones in at the mo, being and blue Chino effects.

Swap to hold up stockings as well rather than tights as that allows better ventilation flow when you stroll about. Just make sure short length is longer than stocking top is short.

However, if heat is the issue, sometime it is cooler to change colour of your items. Try swapping black polyester trousers to fine white cotton (get stuff a bit heavier than the £15 budget you've got - that would probably be a Primark level and your undies would show through, better spend £30 or so and go a bit more upmarket like Debenhams?

As with short sleeve shirts, I find they have the opposite effect - as you are exposing more skin you heat up more quickly. Plus, no one wants to see bulging bks and hairy legs in the morning meeting.
You haven't met my wife ? She would love that
