Right. Birmingham, Crewe and Manchester today.
Radio silence commences now.
Look like I picked the right time to vacate the Manchester area. Radio silence commences now.
When will it be safe to return?
I was thinking of going back on Thursday, staying well clear of the remains of Brum & Crewe. But not venturing all the way to ground zero, obviously. Will I be OK about 8 miles south?
Has P5BNij been informed about Crewe? I think he should be warned.
Don't want him going off the rails...

(NB : unable to multiquote in a single post, haven't done the three day course at Crewe yet )

Hello everyone. I'm sending you positive thoughts Bomma and I hope you can enjoy the day with the little un.
Glenrobbo you have crossed my old area,I went to school in Buntingford and know my way around that way well,if you get a chance on the way back try and pick up the Barley to Royston road it's a must for any petrol head.
There's a giant lurking around Steeple Bumpstead also,so take care. He is Madam Magoo's little Brother.
Them there pretty patterns you see on the outside of quaint Essex cottages may well have been crafted by myself some moons ago. Pargetting.
The neighbour is ok after his visit to hospital and he's back on a previous medication.
I've been busy tyroleaning today and will be for the rest of the week! I'm going to have next week off on the strength of it.

Thanks Magoo old chap, yes we're having a good day. Grandbomma's managed to get a bit of 'clean air' going across a raised section on a small bridge, rather her than me.
We've popped into the butcher's to get a nice bit of steak for tonight's dinner. He mentioned he'd got some rib eye in, would we like to try that?
"Don't think I'd like that Pappy. Not if it's got an eye in it."
I think we've got it sorted now. Peppercorn sauce, mushrooms, chips and peas. One medium rare, the other pull its horns out and wipe its bum.
I'll have an advance Nom please Peri.

Incidentally, I had a bit of a 'moment' near Steeple Bumpstead some years ago.
Capri 2.8 it was. Sideways one moment, sideways the next. Managed to recover it, thankfully.
I only really remember it because it's a lovely name for a little village.
Theres a lot of dodgy bends on the three roads into SB. Incidentally known for being the childhood home to none other than Holly Bellingham, a big girl in our class who endured secondary school being known as Belly Hollingham. Capri 2.8 it was. Windsor is still there - 6am start just about meant I got there for 9am. Just back with a load of work stuff to do resulting which I wont bore you all with. Home ETA 8pm so put the kettle on will ya?
A pointless post but makes me feel better having someone to talk to as it stops the voices

I remember 'Melons' Hollingham, could see her approaching a corner before she'd got round it.
Married a vicar, if I recall?

Have to say old boy, I wasn't aware there was three roads. I can only recall being on one, though it could well have been two at one point.

Not too sure what happened to her. Lived on the corner opposite the church with her mother I believe. It was a long time ago.I remember 'Melons' Hollingham, could see her approaching a corner before she'd got round it.

Nice girl although a little alarming when moving suddenly.

Recently had occasion to take a detour on the way home from a ballast job at Sharnbrook in Bedfordshire, I passed through a quaint little village called Harold, a few miles further south is another called Milton Earnest, which sounds like the name of a famous dead poet that never was. I was born in the delightfully named village of Harborough Magna.Capri 2.8 it was. Sideways one moment, sideways the next. Managed to recover it, thankfully.

There's a "what do you do on Sunday ?" thread and now a "What do you do on Saturday night ?" thread.
I'm going to start a "What do you do on Monday lunchtime?" thread.
Actually I'm not ,because I'm not THAT nosy......
There's also an annoying "How rich are you?" thread under another name in GG.

We've just run into the back of a rowing boat.
Sod it
I think you need to expand on that Bomma - I need a visual impression as at the moment its just a skinny bloke in running shoes and stained white Y-Fronts with his teeth knocked out.Sod it
Bizarre yes
But is it accurate?
It's a fair description of Claire's Son in Law though. Not sure if you ever met him, he was lying at the bottom of the pond when we were having a go with those rocket powered duck things.
All in the past now, anyhow. We're having a go at the old rib eye.
