There was a retired train driver on 100K drop today named Steve .

I wonder if P5B knows him ,he was wearing braces .

His daughter was paired with him and was useless until the very last question and they left with 2.5K ,more than I predicted

earlier.

If you don't watch this council level quiz ,2.5K is 1 bundle of money and is the minimum you can leave with ,apart from nothing at all.

It is really similar to the GT3 model so I am thinking no, but it is only £65 and I can't resist Porsche so maybe I should say yes.
Oh no wobble
You know you want to...........yes

When I head back oop norf tomorrow, I may just take a pic of Percy parked in front of a certain Wendens Ambo village sign just to put the fear of Glenrobbo up Pushfit. evil

Then I can consider that my work down here is done.

Pushfit, are you going to the TVR pre-80s Classics at Cosford on Sunday 8th Sept?
It's at the RAF Museum.

I may well be an exhibit in the 'Experimental and Flight Test Hangar', hanging up on a gibbet next to the TSR-2. biggrin
I think next year will be the year for stuff - I’m still catching up on the best part of 6 months AWOL and all cars are in need of attention. I’ll just get the Vixen ready in time for Goodwood, then Mrs P’s Birthday, then away on hols. Just fitted a re arched spring and it’s worked well, got to grapple with a dash out job next then ignition job then back to jeep for engine mounts and shocks.
I’m looking forward to meeting you so if you pass through the Land Of Tye Bewildered again let me know and stop passing.

I quite enjoy the 100 k Drop thing, never thought about it being 'Council' though, I suppose it is really.

For what it's worth, I''m wearing a Wrangler T shirt and Grandbomma's adorned in a track suit.

Claire's just popped in, she's got a crop top on and she's wearing plimsolls.

Beat that smile

Too many Trivialites appear to be losing their shirts this evening.

Please gamble responsibly.

I am sat here in my purple "Thrills in the Hills" polo, and I even have trousers on ( well, Jeans actually, she said she doesn't mind me wearing the trousers wink )
We have just had a tasty roast chicken dinner with home grown veg and Yorkshire puds, now we are just waiting for my homemade blackberry* & apple crumble to cool a bit before serving with fresh cream.
Nom!

* I visited my Uncle this afternoon and scrumped two punnets of blackberries from his garden. He will never be able to eat the vast amount growing on his bushes. smile

I shall just finish this pint of Abbott and serve up the dessert. Excuse me for a bit! drink

You need to get to A&E or at least have your whims pampered.

Tonight I am wearing my sons black T shirt with some tekky nerd white design, and tan cargo shorts which are partly holed from battery acid (old) and partly plastered with lithium grease (today).

Just for you.

Ps the lithium grease is also all down the front of one leg so a petrol bath it will be shortly.

I know quite a few called Steve but none that are retired Peri, we do have a Steve at our depot though, he has a prosthetic lower leg but you'd never know unless he told you. A few years ago we were both working night time freights down the Midland Mainline to London, his loco failed half way up Desborough bank in Northants and I had to go and assist him with my loco. The ruling in this situation is that the driver of the failed train has to walk ahead and put detonators on the track which he duly did, I come along and stopped to pick him up and go onto the front of his train, as I couple up he skips along the cess to release the handbrakes on the first few wagons as if he was on wheels, he moved much quicker than me and I have a full compliment of legs, I couldn't believe my eyes! He also takes part in the Invictus games bless him.

Some of the old hand drivers I worked with years ago were real characters with great nicknames, there was one called 'the Olympic flame' because if there was any work to be done he never went out. Saltley depot in Brum had the legendary 'Stacker Steadman', a moniker bestowed upon him when he accomplished this fine piece of shunting at Washwood Heath many years ago...

I cycled to work today as I often do. Left my car on the drive. My wife moved it.

She’s driven it down the stone gate post.

I’m sad. Not angry. Accidents happen.

Morning all. 5 hours sleep? Blimey, that'd last a week for me at the mo.

Never mind, the scooter's getting another run out today. We'll take it over to Irthlingborough park, there's a good stretch of path that she'll be able to have a good go upon.

Reminds me a bit of when I got my first car, 3.0 Granada it was. Probably not the ideal thing for 'starting out', good fun though.

What was yours?
My first car was a '77 Mini 1000 but the first car I ever drove was a 3.0 Granada which had been taken in as part ex at the same garage. It was the same colour as the Sweeney 3.0 Consul GT 'NHK 295M', and I almost reversed it into a parked Transit van when my foot slipped off the clutch!

You have cost me enough money with your bloody under £200 watch thread. I keep telling myself I don’t need any more watches but still I look in your thread and then get my wallet out. Last purchase based on that thread was a TW Steel, but not just one, I bought two! (One of which I haven’t even worn)

Last time I was out for a few beers on a Saturday afternoon Mrs Bobbers WhatsApped me to say she'd backed into the post on the corner of our drive, I couldn't really say much after I'd done this to the same car the year before!!!

I’m three miles from two other county borders and seven from a third so which one are you in? Posh, Academic or Tractor?
