Harry and Meghan
Discussion
Semantics, surely? The money was not intended to pay for the upgrade of a private residence, but rather to support the Royal Family in their official capacity, wasn't it? Isn't this a bit like MP's expenses paying for duck houses and moat clearance?
Either way it seems like a pretty good deal to me. Isn't the current system an elaborate way for the Royals to avoid paying inheritance tax, whereby they get to keep ownership of royal residences that they might otherwise be forced to sell, get a healthy return each year which allows them and their family to live in opulence, and have a role which allows them to travel around the world in first-class luxury and be feted by world leaders? I may be wrong, of course, as I can't claim expertise in this area, but they do seem to have their cake and eat it.

The small age gap will also start to tell soon
I know that she’s 3 years older than him, but how do you think it will start to tell dave?I know that women are supposed to mature earlier than men, do you think that perhaps Meghan will mentally outgrow her young Prince, and become sophisticated, while Harry remains a man-child perhaps?
I've just read all this thread.... Hilarious. People getting upset and angry about what other people are up to. I can't be bothered to read most of the stuff about H&M, who knows what's true and what isn't. A bit off controversy stirs folk up and sells papers. Now and again they have a pop at Wills and Kate too.
I've nothing against the Royals and have much more important things that affect my daily life to worry about than popping a vein over Harry and Meghan.
Someone questioned why she is going by her first name, Rachel. Seriously!!! Who cares.....

With that superiority complex you could almost be royalty. I've nothing against the Royals and have much more important things that affect my daily life to worry about than popping a vein over Harry and Meghan.

I expected the standard PH reply... I was just curious and then read the whole thing. I've not defended or agreed with the Royals. Just surprised so many are so bothered and seem to know what H&M are really like... even someone making a comment gets grief lol. As you were

Obviously come on it and agree or disagree with people but to come on and ask people why they are discussing it at all seems strange to be honest.
I think the want us to save the planet to offset how much they are damaging it.

Because they work incredibly hard and sacrifice so much for the nation (and planet) Sir Elton paid for their holiday to give them a much needed break.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's somehow invested in this Carbon Footprint company, or someone like his mate Bono is, and it's all somehow one massive circular tax dodge.
What a bunch of tossers, all three of them.
