It's quite subtle so happens a lot, poor design, but the block paving and border has a slightly different design.

I can see how you would potentially make a mistake pulling into the space in the first place

But getting out of your car and using your eyes given the wider context... You would definitely see your parked on a path.

I've visions of a few men being dropped off at midnight in various fields with horses, going round each one with a torch, trying to find the one with a plait, utterly ludicrous!
