when you quote something like that without context it makes it sound like he's been slathering peanut butter on his old chap and getting the dog to go at it

I don’t think most dating web sites will accept those?

So I'm chatting to a guy and arranged to meet for a drink tomorrow afternoon. At Wetherspoons. smile He sent me a link which he said was for Wetherspoons, but it took me to iZettle and appurse.com. I've never heard of either of these, Google suggests that iZettle is trusted but appurse doesn't sound too good. I've downloaded the Wetherspoons app, but I'm suspicious now.

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of either of them?

I've had an iZettle card reader for years, now owned by Paypal- totally legit payment processor. Appurse just seems to be an app store, so if it's to get the Wetherspoons app just get it from your usual app store if you don't like the look of it.

Although why you need any of that for a date I'm not sure.

Why would he send you a link to open/download stuff? "Lets meet at x place at x time"... that's it surely? scratchchin

Apparently you have to order and pay on the app. They don't serve at the bar.

I'd be doing that anyway. I don't expect anyone to buy me a drink. Later on, taking it in turns paying for drinks/meals etc - fine, but not on the first date.

I don’t think in this instance there’s going to be a first date.

Yep, classy guy, haha.

I would want to pay fully for the first date for sure. Even if there was no spark, I would still pay and cover everything.

A man should be buying you the drinks and food on the first date, even if the date is not working out.

Bluesgirl is setting a trap, she is seeking a fella for Xmas. Buy own drinks first date, get expensive Xmas present later.

She will dump him before new year and get another for Valentines biggrin
