At least you didn't win a Lotus Elise...
seen this mentioned a couple of times - can anyone expand?https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Interesting read and feel for the OP, you would think that a major betting company that makes several hundred million profit per year could perhaps do better competitions and prizes ?
They had a joke at Tiger Woods expense for their own publicity, fair enough but am sure they could perhaps have been a little more generous and offered a new/half decent car for the winner, rather than some shed they had used on the ad that would more than likely get scrapped otherwise.
Gambling companies are generally a bit scummy and grasping, I see job ads for my area of work and the ones in Stoke say (Not a gambling company) as a lot of people have objections to working in that area (gambling, not Stoke, well actually Stoke as well) a chap I worked with refused an interview at that one on principle.

From their perspective, this is probably the cheapest way of getting rid of it...Not sure that's completely fair.
I don't know what the billboard stunt would have cost overall but the car itself might only have been 5-10% of it. They'll have got that back in media attention.
Some bright spark in marketing sees the opportunity to rinse a bit more PR and a few thousand more email addresses out of it by raffling the car. All pretty fair and sensible, IMO.
All they tripped-up on was showing the wrong generation of car in a picture.

If it's LHD PM me when you pick it up if you don't want it. It's worth £10k in my part of the world any day. Our plates hide the age so less snobbery

That car looks so good but so many electrical things to go wrong!https://www.otomoto.pl/oferta/cadillac-escalade-6-...
Plot twist.
When previously getting insurance, I was guessing a 2009 car for a rough estimate of how much it was to insure. Not too bad - only £420
But - now that I've went again to check insurance, it doesn't exist.
When I enter the reg, it comes up as Cadillac Fleetwood - from 1956 onwards - 4 door saloon. Hmnnn...so if I click to enter details manually, I can only find insurance for 2006 Cadillac Escalades and younger. 2003 isn't an option. Been on gocompare, comparethemarket, moneysupermarket, confused and all are the same. I phoned up my current insurer, Liverpool Victoria and they have said the same, 2006 and onwards only. They had a look on a secondary system but no luck - they can't insure that year of vehicle.
Does this mean mk1 and mk2 cadillacs can no longer be insured in the UK? I know these are imported cars and are not the usual type of insurance but this doesn't look great for being able to get 'reasonably priced' insurance....And if its a Cadillac Fleetwood according to the reg - has the previous owner circumvented this issue by pretending its a 'Fleetwood' rather than an Escalade. Its all a bit bizzare!
