I think I need another Vantage in my life. Miss my old one too much.

I now live in Germany, but pickings are very slim here, and prices high. I am tempted to buy a UK Vantage, but then the wheel is on the wrong side. Not sure how much that will mater in a car that isn’t a daily.

Does anyone know of/selling/advice for the LHD Vantage I yearn for? Cheers

If I don’t get a Vantage, I am thinking F-type again (sold my V6S) but probably the V8.

Apart from the position of the steering wheel are there any other particular requirements/rules for a car in Germany that are different to the other LHD markets?
If not then the whole of the USA is open to you - shipping costs are not that exorbitant smile

Good point, and I am considering all of EU, for the import costs.

USA might be an option and shipping not really the issue, it's more the import + VAT (19%) that gets added which might make it a non-starter.

Check Mr tremlinis post on V12 Values subject, he mentions Swiss V8 values. Presume they are LhD there

Definitely Swiss are LHD, and relatively easy to import to Germany.
Check swiss market here:

I lived in Switzerland for a year, but nothing too tasty came up. Now there are a few more on the market but...

Switzerland is not in the EU, so I have to import to Germany (at a fee) and then pay 20% VAT on the car, so the car really needs to be from the EU.

Why do you say Germany is a bad market? With Royal Motors and the engine factory there, I was pretty certain the best cars were there, after UK of course.

I was about to buy a black N420 with lightweight seats, sadly it was sold in a week.

Just my experience from having looked since March. Almost all cars are black (any car, not just Vantages), and don't have the best spec. Then, it seems used cars here are very overpriced, and high miles. Also, mostly auto/sportshift. Just as a comparison, an RS4 Avant (2007) is about 30-40k here, double the UK price.

I am after a relatively simple car - 2007+ manual vantage, premium stereo, silver or non-black. That's it. I just don't want to pay double what I should.

I was just talking Vantages, no idea about other brands. But fair enough, I must just have been lucky with my search/timing. And I didn't mind black too much, even if my current Quantum Silver N420 (bought in France) is way better. smile

I would consider black, if everything else worked out.

I’m happy to listen to any advice you might have on the topic.

I remember this French website has been useful. Basically you scan all Europe or just the countries you want.

Again, if something to your taste shows up in Milan, I can gladly go and check it for you.

Thanks all, really appreciate this.

I imported my motorbike when I moved here, so although it's a ball ache, I know how it works at least. When I did my bike, as I'd had it longer than 6months there was no VAT to pay. If I import a car whilst I live here, I bend over and pay 19%.

Found same in europe (live in france) and ironically i ended up in your country to get right colour at right price, but yeh, lhd is always way more cost than uk rhd but im happy to pay more as it will hardly loose any if bought right, i can actually sell tomorrow for 10% more than i paid.
