Hi all.

I’ve had an iPhone for many years now (4 years straight with my current phone) but finally switch to Samsung due to being disappointed with Apple’s line up and value for money - in terms of the iPhone (still using Mac as I feel those are great bits of kit).

The two phones I’m interested in are the S10 plus and Note 10 plus (not a fan of the Pixel or Oneplus (due to the EMUI and design), nor Huawei)

The only problem is I have pretty small hands. I’ve had a hands on with the S10 (Plus) and it felt very good in my hand. Is the Note 10 Plus too cumbersome?

I would go for the normal 6.3in Note 10 but apparently the display is pretty crap in 2019 for a high end phone with only Full HD.
Price is also an issue. I don’t really want to be paying more than £40, £45 at a push a month, upfronts can be whatever.
I’m not a power user so 128GB is enough and 8GB of ram is fine. I have my son’s i7 16GB MBP If I need to do any hard work... (I bought it)

The main things that appeal are display, bartery life and camera quality, as well as usability of the interface and the phone itself (holding in hand etc). I only get about 3 hours maybe 4 from my nearly dead iPhone 6s and the fingerprint sensor began to play up today meaning the end is nigh for my trusty soldier.

Cheers beer

Why a +? Why not a big standard S10?

Or perhaps an S9 from Amazon and a sim only deal?

I was led to believe that the 10+ was inferior to the S10 from review sites, is this not true? The 10+ didnt feel massive in my hand which I liked.

Only interested in latest and greatest as I tend to keep my phones for a while but want to stay in contract this time, thus not interested in S9.

In that case, I'd buy outright from Amazon or somewhere, and put your number on a sim only deal.

No point in paying £45 a month for years. Over half that is the phone cost and you are tied to one airtime company.

Chances are you will get a better, cheaper and shorter contract on sim only.

Drop into Tesco or PC World and decide on your handset. I wouldn't rule out the S9 though.

I do the same as you, buy a top-end phone then use it for as long as possible, and just gone through the same choice: S10e, S10, S10+ or one of the Note range.

I had a S5 but it had to go as a few of the apps I use regularly were no longer updating and becoming buggy. The S10 is nearly identical in size (2mm narrower but 7mm longer) but has a bigger screen, the Note and + options looked huge in comparison! Was originally set on the S10e but a good deal came up on a S10 so went for that. Lovely phone and the screen is superb, as good as my friend's latest IPhone. The Edge Display notification is a bit of a gimmick so I've turned that off, otherwise I'm very happy with it.
