...For me it's got to be M6, it's just a lovely size, not to big, not too small, easily available, a lovely 1mm pitch, 10mm A/F or a 5mm hex key and obviously as a 10.9 zinc plated, I mean what's not to like?

Asked a couple of my colleagues - one loves an M12 as he thinks that's the start of the big sizes, another likes an M3 (though he's an electronics engineer so what do you expect?) Another colleagues favourite was "Are you being serious you sad fcensoreding bascensoredrd"

So come on, what's your favourite?

M7. Love the quirkyness,

Unless of course we're not just talking metric, in which case, i just love BA!

BSP - nasty mess!

I always thought I was alone and a threads nerd.

I find that after about 40 or 50 posts most threads start to go downhill rapidly.

I'm rather satisfied with an M10x1.

M6, preferably a dome head socket/allen.

As a retail design engineer I use them almost exclusively... just the right size to be structurally effective on retail displays whilst not being too small to easily lose and drop. Also only the one size of Allen key to spec and include in the box, and sending out replacement fixing packs is a doddle if required.

I've never had my eyebrows threaded so I can't comment.

About 35 pages for an engine swap, or 50 pages for a complete build or restoration project.

How can you abandon Whitworth!
Without a doubt 1/2” x12 Whit is a thing of beauty!

On any size, I do like a good, rolled thread with nice grainflow.

13mm every time.

It's almost 1/2" so you can use either spanner

Definitely not restricted to metric, I have to use BSP threads a lot and i always have to remind myself in books/tables how big/small they actually are, 1"...no no no you mean 33.25mm mad

This, if only every thread was this size.

Are you pulling my leg? There's no standard M13, I mean M14 exists but it's not a preferred size, an M12 is 19 A/F though and a 1/2" is 3/4 across the flats so you could probably get away with a 3/4 spanner on an M12 bolt and a 19mm spanner on a 1/2" bolt.

don't you have a 13mm socket or spanner ?

mind you it did say thread size. it was mainly English when I did my basic training and I didn't go down the mech route so forgotten most things in 37 years
