Webuyanycar - next day payment fail
Discussion
Slightly stting myself now. Sold my car to them on Saturday and paid for next day payment which they said will go through today by 6pm and I haven't received anything.
I used them as I really couldn't be arsed with the hassle selling privately and need the money to buy a new works vehicle asap.
I've just read a review on trustpilot posted today someone saying they paid for next day payment and 10 days has past with no payment so I'm fking worried now.
I can't find a phone number for a head office, just the local branch which I'll phone first thing in the morning.
Anyone else had this experience? Waiting payment for 10.5k!

Yep, doubled checked the paperwork and it's all correct.
If they did the transaction Saturday, their bank will count today (Monday) as the first working day, these can take up to 4 days to go through. Usually these places have a Finance Manager who is supposed to action / authorise these BACS payments foiled said:
If payment is next working day, then you should get your money tomorrow.
I hope so! Paperwork says payment will be made today by 6pm though.I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing but desperately need it as I can't pick up a works vehicle I put a deposit on so unable to be out earning money.
Did you pay for next day payment? (£25 quid ish?)
Given its half term it could be something as simple as they are understaffed in the WBAC accounts dept this week and payments took longer to process?
When I used them I just did the standard (free) payment option and it took the full 3 working days IIRC.

Finally received a reply from the head office:
Hi, thank you for getting in touch. After investigating the matter further I can confirm that following the sale of a vehicle several post-sale checks are conducted to satisfy security and compliance requirements. It is standard practice for our purchasers to take an image of the engraved VIN at the point of sale as one of the post-sale checks is to verify the engraved VIN against the information displayed on the V5/HPI. Unfortunately on this occasion the we do not appear to have a photograph of the VIN/Chassis stamp on record. This prevented us from completing the verification checks and resulted in the payment going on hold. We sincerely apologise for the upset and inconvenience this delay has caused but I can assure you that action is currently being taken to obtain a clear photo of the VIN/Chassis stamp from the holding site. Please be assured that our checks will be completed and the funds will be released as soon as we are in receipt of this. Thank you for your co-operation during this time.

Not helpful I know but I don't know why anyone uses these clowns. The Internet is full of bad stuff about them.
Advertised my car on eBay with every single defect listed, sold within 3 days and for £900 more than WBAC quoted but I'm sure that quote would have been heavily knocked down if I had of taken the car to them. The buyer transferred the money to me with BACS on the day and it was instantly in my account.

Agree and now wish I didn't bother. I'm only using them as I need a replacement works vehicle asap and they wouldn't part exchange my car against a commercial vehicle as with most dealers I dealt with. Found the perfect van at a good price so paid the deposit there n then thinking WBAC would give me part exchange value - which they almost did.Advertised my car on eBay with every single defect listed, sold within 3 days and for £900 more than WBAC quoted but I'm sure that quote would have been heavily knocked down if I had of taken the car to them. Used them years ago and didn't have a problem but wouldn't touch them again for certain.
Overall it is a bit of a scam really - entice you in with a good online valuation only to knock off hundreds after spotting the lightest of scratches "It'll need to go to a body shop bks"

It’s equally full of good stuff too, if you cared to look. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I’ve used them several times with full success. Put the effort in and describe the car EXACTLY as it is, accept the offer.Advertised my car on eBay with every single defect listed, sold within 3 days and for £900 more than WBAC quoted but I'm sure that quote would have been heavily knocked down if I had of taken the car to them. Twice they’ve paid over market.
The other two times marginally under market and worth the minor loss to save the hassle of advertising and then wasting time with tyre kickers.

That's certainly been my experience as well, though I expect it also helps if you're shifting a 'mainstream' car that's under 5 or 6 years old. I've sold a 120d, an A3, a VW Up!, an A4 convertible and a Mercedes C class estate to them, albeit over a period of 12 years, and not been chipped on any of them, and at the prices offered I couldn't be bothered with trying to sell privately.- though I accept my tolerance for selling cars is low, and so I'm willing to take a bit of a hit! But, i was upfront about every mark. They were less keen on an A3 e-tron mind you... I guess if they're easily retail-able cars they can be more certain of the priceroadsmash said:
