I was wondering the other day how quickly this would become a thing. I usually get a zero back and sides and have a short length on top. Just enough to put some product in and sweep it to the side. My wife is literally asking me every morning if I want her to cut my hair! I've been wanting to go short for a while now and think that where I am probably not going to see anyone for the next month (whose opinion I care about) other than my wife that I might bite the bullet.

The other half of me wants to see how long I can let it grow though, that's not something I'd normally be able to do either.

My partner has cut mine on and off for probably ten years now.

For as long as I can remember I've had a number 4 or 5, a bit shorter round the side and back.

It's quite easy to do something like that, and it grows so quickly any mistakes are quickly hidden.

I had a long overdue haircut booked for the day after Boris announced the lockdown... As this is almost certainly going to go on longer than 3 weeks... I bit the bullet yesterday and zero’d it all off laugh

I shave my head daily. Decided to grow the sprigs on top out for a giggle. At the end of 12 weeks I'll have a comedy thin comb over going.

The Mrs tried to blend mine in thinking it would be easy.

I now look like a character straight out of Romper Stomper.

Haven't had this look for 20years. I do like how maintenance free it is.

The BBC’s Will Gompertz did a piece on David Hockney yesterday. His barnet is starting to get slightly out of hand, not in the middle though. By the end of this I think he’ll be looking like either Bill Bailey or at best Terry Nutkins.

A lot of you guys should accede to your partner’s desire for them to have a crack at being the next John Freida, on condition you get to have a go at theirs; that should go down welllaugh

Have a set of clippers on the way and my wife had cut her brothers hair for a few years when she lived at home.
What’s the worst that can happen.
2 on the sides to remove the fluff and a trim on the top with the scissors.

Absolutely not.

I am not letting my fiance anywhere near me with a set of clippers, nor anyone else who isn't a professional for that matter. I don't care how many friggin YouTube videos you have seen, I've seen a lot too and they were a disaster hehe

My ears are too big and my head is a funny shape to go for the skinhead look, which is the only thing I'd trust her to do... so no.

I used to have long hair in my late teens, so I might go back to that!

The wife : I have watched loads of youtube video's , let me gave a go at cutting your hair..

Me: sure, but I have been watching lots of pornhub anal video's..what do you reckon?

(I am not really married)

She would probably just shove the clippers up my arse anyway..

I’d rather go for the full Jesus look than have my wife cut my hair.

I run a complicated Flock of Seagulls style and she would make Edward Scissorhands looks delicate.

Flock of seagulls style isn’t that complicated...

Clippered number 3...or 2, can't remember which. Working from home, stubble length will shortly overtake hair length.

No, but then we aren't told we have too.
Yes clearly business as usual ...

You should only leave the house for very limited purposes:

shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible
one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household
any medical need, including to donate blood, avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
travelling for work purposes, but only where you cannot work from home

This is becoming increasingly tempting. Self cut not the other half having a go.

I’m normally at the barbers every 3 weeks and was due just before lockdown. I now look ridiculous. No2 all over is surely difficult to fk up?

Oh no it isn't, it is very easy to landscape unevenly, and you can ask how I know (but I'm not providing pics with custardsmile).

The good news is that it grows back...eventually. The better news is that we are in lockdown so your spouse refusing to be seen in public with you is a bit moot.

It's easier getting someone else to do as someone else already pointed out, doing a decent job of the back is nigh on impossible on your own.

Top tip though, I regularly get a low maintenance 5 on top, 3 on the sides. The 5 on my clippers at home is MUCH shorter than at the barbers. No idea why but I'd start with a longer setting than you were planning just in case it's the same with yours.

It'll grow back quickly enough anyway but mine is definitely shorter than I would normally have. Fortunately no-one can see it other than my immediate family and the 50 odd people I've been having video calls with this week... One or two of those did chuckle!

Appreciate the tips! I tend to alternate between 1 sides 3 top and 1 sides finger length scissor cut on top. Might have to let her loose with a 2 all over!
