I really messed up. I have curly haif. Usually ask for a 4 on sides and back, trim the top, keep the curls.

I did a 4 on top, 3 on the sides. It looks fine, but I did too much on the sideburms so now have one normal, the other so high it is a diffeent shade of skin colour. Oh well...
Health Warning

Cutting you hair short when you are not used too it can also affect your spelling.

New haircut courtesy of wife - well chuffed, she’s done a cracking job!
Are you and FN2TypeR going out "debt collecting" later? wink

As for me, I look like a Playmobil character....

.... and getting on for a bit of the luxuriant Paul Atreides style...

It just gets thicker and thicker.

Mrs DS wants to have a go at cutting it. I'm not having it - I'll probably end up looking like a Harkonnen from the above film with a big bald square on top of my head!

<cut tale of woe>

...all three men now look exactly the same as she fked the job up just as spectaularly rofl and all three guys have taken to wearing baseball caps to cover their domes. Nick - step daughters fella - and his brother Mike are mad as hell whereas their dad is just keeping quiet for now hehe
And this, folks, is why Mrs DS is not getting anywhere near my hair! rofl

Well I would love to join this thread as my hair resembles a unkempt bush however I cannot find any online shops with clippers for sale. It seems the nation is wanting to join this thread.

Had a hilarious time last night. My wife cut our boys' hair. Older one was fine but refused to have anything but the fringe cut, younger one (age 10) seemed ok but lost it halfway through. I think the scissors being waved in front of his eyes did it. Tears and wailing, and then unhelpful wringling. Daughter and I just about managed to hold it together until it was done but us wetting ourselves at the end sent him off on one again. rofl

Wife then found that the beard trimmer on my electric shaver isn't up to much so the back of his neck looks distinctly moth-eaten. hehe

Just getting some clippers online. So far my hair's just about under control, but it won't be long before it's my turn.

Her nephew's just had a buzz cut and my kids first question was "Has he got cancer?" eek

Update: Discussion on BBC Breakfast re tentative likely date for barbers reopening. It's the 25th....... of July! By then it'll have been 20 weeks for me (I usually go every 4). Could be interesting. Owner of several hairdressing salons in London had some helpful advice - wear a hat.

They also surveyed barbers and found a surprising number still open, one of whom had decided that Coronavirus didn't exist.....

I haven't even really bothered putting any styling product in my hair whilst I've been stuck in the house. I do this as otherwise my hair is very fluffy, which I don't like

But it has now got so long that it can hold itself down, and the centre parting I had as a teenager in the late 90s is making a natural comeback!

Yet I've heard that the Sunday announcement suggests a week after - i.e. 18th May,.,.

Was that today, May 6?
I’ll try to get it on Catch-Up, I’ll go anywhere within the North/South Circular Roads to have a one and a half on the sides, and a two on top.

I hope you're right. I'm currently at the Hugh Grant stage. After 20 weeks it'll either be full bohemian, or Animal from the Muppets.......

Thanks for that Mort,
p.s. if anyone knows of a barber that’s open within striking distance of Tower Bridge, let me know.
Have mask, will travel.

I'll continue the trend then.

Usually have a 2 back and sides and a 4 on top, but not had a trim since early March so charged up a beard trimmer I bought in March for just this eventuality, shoved the biggest size bumper on it (9mm) and gave it a go. Pretty nervous and it wasn't looking good when I had tufty bits all over my crown but a bit of perseverance and I now have a roughly all over No.3.

Youngest was happy enough with his trim a few weeks ago, eldest (11) is definitely reluctant although he's coming round to the idea.

Will be back in the barbers when they're open again though.
The clippers I ordered from China, YIKES!, arrived today, and have three attachments, marked 3mm, 6mm and 12mm, reading your post, I assume that the 3mm equates to a # 1, and the 6mm to a # 2, does that sound about right, before I let the enemy loose on my barnet?

Let the a fiance’s/girlfriends of some close friends and my wife have a crack at doing mine last night after we’d had a few bottles of red/beers.

Was ok, if a little tarmac driveway, as they didn’t have the confidence to take more than a few MM off the top. Went to tidy it this morning now I’m back and sober but didn’t check the number for the last touch up, put the “1 on instead of the “5 didn’t check and then went for it...

Oops...

The enemy manoeuvred me out to the kitchen balcony and cracked away, she didn’t
do a bad job, I looked all of my 80 years before, but she said maybe 79 now.
