Went back to the Country Market. Two non-frivolous fuzzy-lined hoodies, and this glorious addition to what seems to be an emerging theme for crimbo this year.
Tell me you've seen the outdoor inflatable christmas dino's in Homebase? One was on offer at £25 the other week and it took me every ounce of willpower I have not to buy it...Edited by Sporky on Monday 18th November 14:51

We were eyeing them up in Dobbies on Saturday, they’re ace. Edited by Sporky on Monday 18th November 14:51
The rot has set in, we’ve got an inflatable gingerbread man…

The medium was definitely the pick of the bunch.
And I was right that they'd sell out if the little tinsel T-Rex.
I was surprised they sold out of the rats dressed as crimbo Batman and Superman though...
I grabbed a Tinsel TRex from Aldi middle isle thinking the Mrs would hate it and make me put it back, apparently not, so that is my sole contribution to the decorations this year And I was right that they'd sell out if the little tinsel T-Rex.

I've been lured by the promise of every coffee I ever dreamed of...

My reasoning is thus....
Sometimes I just like a nice, percolated coffee. All the fancy machines him indoors has had over the yers had made latte's, cappuccinos etc but failed on a a good flat white.
This will not only percolate a nice full jug of coffee for me, but do all the fancy frothy stuff for the boss and all the nice summer iced coffees I can drink. It's extremely expensive. Hopefully it's as amazing as it's reviews...

Having blown £600 on a bean to cup machine for the wife 2 years ago I would say that’s not badly priced. Fingers crossed you like ithttps://ninjakitchen.co.uk/product/ninja-luxe-cafe...

All you need to make good coffee is one of these

Or a V60 and some 1x4 filters and enjoy a drip coffee. Hundreds on a coffer maker is, IMO wasted, spend it on a decent grinder instead

I've tried these before, great for me, but for the other half who likes a frothy latte etc it doesn't do what he wants.https://unionroasted.com/products/clever-dripper-b...

You're right there but it does make "real" coffee really well. If your other half wants arty farty poncy coffee then maybe you are stuck with the expensive options . Can you not froth his milk with one of your eight (or is it now nine) lightsabres?Milk has no place in coffee IMO.

Hah, I wish those sabres really worked, believe me I'd have taken one to work with my by now Milk has no place in coffee IMO.
I've had frothers before as well, they were ok. Thing is, he works from home, I'm in most of the time as well, I love a pot of coffee I can keep going back to. To achieve that currently I have to brew a pot for me, and then used a secondary machine for his latte's etc. There then comes the faff of cleaning the cheaper machines we've had in the past, not to mention counter space from yet another coffee machine.
The idea that I can still brew my pot of filter coffee (I shall retain the thermal jug from the current machine as this one is capable of brewing a jug full) and he can have whatever frothy delight he chooses without having 2 machines, frothers and grinders appeals to me greatly. There is an argument for getting rid of the kettle too as this version has a dedicated hot water spout.
Reading this it has a lot going for it, and clean up is a lot easier as well.

Frivolous in terms of the time it’s taken to make rather than the money…still not finished
Outstanding work that! I’d looked at making a couple of chicken wire ghosts for the garden for Halloween but concluded I lacked the talent so to achieve that is very impressive. Edited by twing on Thursday 21st November 19:31
