Got a text from the marina on Tuesday about Storm Barbara and that we should check and maybe double up ropes on the boats. Can’t see anything violent on Auntie’s forecast for this area (Highest wind 18 on Saturday), so a little confused why we are getting warnings.
Had a very quick look at t’internet and is seems to have been coming up from Spain, to hit us yesterday. Anyone notice or was this just another warning that we might get some fairly normal U.K. October weather?
Yesterday was indeed Barbara, the rain was far worse than the wind. Worst winds were off the south coast, so was precautionary rather than expected. Anyone notice or was this just another warning that we might get some fairly normal U.K. October weather?

Quite an amazing amount of rain today.
And with the wind quite an incredible leaf fall. Yesterday there seemed to be none on the ground and today it looks like late, late Autumn.
I raked up about eleventy million leaves yesterday, hate to think what I'll have to do tomorrow. And with the wind quite an incredible leaf fall. Yesterday there seemed to be none on the ground and today it looks like late, late Autumn.
In keswick at the moment, yesterday the rain was like a tropical storm, the caravan warden came round to tell us we are on a flood alert, and to be ready to move, they will give us 1 hour notice to move,
overnight we had thunder and lightning along with hailstones, this morning the lake, is a lot closer than it was last night and the rain continues.
Picture of the lake from the caravan.
Going home today.....

Sodding green bin hasn't been collected for a while so I can't even put any more in there! Not to mention it's all going to be sodden and very heavy. Yesterday was very much an 'indoors' day.And with the wind quite an incredible leaf fall. Yesterday there seemed to be none on the ground and today it looks like late, late Autumn.

As forecast, first decent snowfall of the season. September didn't really count. Due to continue through Monday lunchtime. A little brisk; will hit -18c tomorrow.
It's still dry and mild up here. Forecast was for snow starting an hour or so ago. It sounds like the front range is getting most of it at the moment. Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
