For whatever tempest, gale, storm, white-out or flood that will occur over the next few months, I blame Puggit.

yes
Always a solid plan, I will follow your lead biggrin

Deeply disappointed in 'storm' Alex. They wasted my name on this?! It's just a load of rain!

It was named by the French. 115mph winds battering the NW for more than 24 hours. Plus the rain. There was a sting jet too (great storm of 1987 had one...)

Open up the radar and look at it. Terrible conditions and not moving fast.

Now look at this tweet from yesterday:

It's barely moved. I haven't looked at the French news yet but it must be disastrous.

About 100 miles SE of the rain. Not sure they've had any ill effects, thanks!

It's snowed already this year, but it's going to be 27c next week.

Yes, lovely hazy afternoon, been in the garden working on it, never have thought that possible from the forecasts a few days ago.

From that latest weather warning, it looks like East Berks is even out of the yellow!

Fair point, the center of it didn't look nice at all.

Fingers crossed for snow and cold, clear days this winter. I've no idea why I wish for this as it's hard enough for me to stand up at the best of times, but y'know, waking up to snow is pretty (as long as it's a weekend and you don't need to be anywhere).

If you're in any doubt when the snow deluge arrives, get yourself one of these, Alex! And, when you're not using it, let me have a go. yes

Weird day here in Guernsey. Woke up to gale force winds and heavy rain. Got ready for a swim and within 20 minutes the wind had dropped to almost nothing and the sea had gone from very rough to calm albeit with a big swell. Then within an hour, back to gale force winds, torrential rain and stormy seas. It has stayed like this for the rest of the day. I gather near by France which has taken a proper battering.

There are only two utterly surefire ways of ensuring that snow will not happen... One is me owning that, the other is a winter threadist owning a working Aga/Rayburn.

It's still chucking it down with rain in NE Scotland. The level of our local river has been hovering below low and normal all summer but has now surpassed high since this rain started
