3" over night in Colorado. Most snow in about 6 weeks.

Balmy too; -6c.
This actually turned out to be 4" when I could be bothered to open the door and look at it.

weather.com reports '100% chance of precipitation tonight'. This is....unusual. They normally allow themselves an out, so must be pretty sure of something. Forecast is for 4" to 8", centered pretty much dead over head. For once Bertie looks like being on the other end of the scale, with next to nothing due in his direction up in the mountains.

Blue skies up here, and pretty mild. Forecast for tonight into tomorrow is an inch or two. How's things where you are now?

And I sent you an email the other day btw - not sure if it got through though.

The only signal currently in the models is for a long spell of high pressure.

It's not inconceivable that when the high pressure moves it goes to our NE and provides a brief cold spell - but yes, I would say it's over.

Summer - here we come!

Pug,

It has only been a year and I cannot remember what the criteria are for kicking off the summer misery too hot and horrible with virtually no lightning thread?

Is it a forecast of 20c or an actual of 20c? Or when the clocks go forward?

Sorry, I have a split A/C system being installed in my flat after years of melting every summer. It gets put in at the end of March.

I therefore assure you, there will be no summer this year, just week after week of grey days where it struggles to get above 20 degrees,

Normally when there is a realistic forecast of 20 (so not 2 weeks away on an app!). We often have a period of meh now until April/May where the weather isn't worth talking about. Last year was quite the exception.

This high pressure spell doesn't yet look like it will deliver these types of temps - but might do as it wears on.

I'm calling it! Lovely day today, daffs popping up all over the garden. Motorbike off for an MOT this afternoon, mountain biking on the moors this evening, SLK summer rear wheels off to get new tyres tomorrow morning and I'll swap the wheels over this weekend.

Snowlercoaster has left town.

The patch is in a very sheltered area. But, it's been above 10 degrees for several days now.
