Oh and while im at it, season, when refering to tv shows, its a fking series, now sod off.
It depends on what you are talking about. People using the word season has come about mainly due to the rise or Netflix so it has given us many Americanisms. In the US a TV series is the show itself such as “The Big Bang Theory” and a season is a run of that series. They are called seasons because they are launched at specific times of year that coincide with spring, summer etc. In that context, with an American show, it is correct to call it a season.
Agree with this but “show” is another thing that pisses me off.

It didn't seem to catch on thankfully but a while ago some motorsport dhead commentators starting saying 'winningest (driver)". Christ, they sounded like 5 year olds!!

Another Americanism. When ex-Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula died a year or so ago, US commentators would, with a completely straight face, describe him as the winningest coach in NFL history, rather than the one who had won more games than anyone else.

"living their best life"

As opposed to what?
Actively choosing and deciding on activities and lifestyle - making choices, planning and achieving them.
Rather than drifting through life day by day
“Living their best life”.

Drifting through life day by day taking it as it comes and enjoying the moment.
Rather than frenetically organising, doing, moving planning to do ‘things”
“Living their best life”

Means that you are living the life that you will most enjoy. Hope that might help. smile
Isn't it usually just a Humblebrag?

"Architect Designed" when describing a house that is up for sale.... Aren't most houses designed by an architect?

"Pivot" seems to be a current buzz word in business, used when meaning a change of direction..

"You Ok Hun?" Usually in response to some cryptic one liner on social media

"Hack" Seems to be in favour when sharing tips on anything from cooking to building to cleaning...

Then after the person says "Oh nuffink" then the "Love you babe" and "Love you too babe" starts. Horrible.

I had been on the project overseas for three months and the project director decided to come to site to meet the newly assembled team, he was going to come to site for three days and for the fist evening of his arrival he wanted to meet myself and the site manager for dinner, to meet me and to catch up with the site manager.

He took us out for dinner and a couple of beers and i noticed that he loved saying, "Anyway, it is what it is". I decided to count the saying through the evening and over 3 hours he said it 26 fking times for fk sake.

And to top it off, last night i decided to watch the latest version of the film The Magnificent Seven, and would you believe it one of the cowboys in the movie even says it in that, theres no way in the late 1800s that was even a saying.

Anyway i suppose, it is what it is......GGGggrrrrrr

People who say 'myself' when they mean 'me'. And by extension, people who say 'yourself' when they mean 'you'.

That reminded me of someone on another forum that always typed "moi" instead of "I" or "me". Their posts used to read something like "Moi went out this morning and saw someone, who to moi, looked a bit suspect".

It's not like it's any quicker to type! mad

Hate it. Even more so as I’ve found myself saying it a lot recently, often to try and get though some difficult conversations when I’ve not known what to say and people are looking at me to reassure them I’m ok and getting better from recent events.

Never seen the problem with the phrase "is what it is". To me it's just saying "it's a st situation but you just need to accept it".

Yes I probably do say it too much as well though laugh

A few pages since we had iconic.

Everything now seems to be iconic rather than well-known or famous.
