So wandavision is now out and not sure who signed it off but so far, if you loved bewitched or of that vintage, you'll love it, otherwise I'm hoping it gets better over time....
Watched episode 1 not going to bother with 2... I thought Ep1 was great, 8.5/10 ... lets see where the story goes...
Marvel Comics taught me to read and I still have an unreasonably large collection of comics from the 70’s till about 2010 when escalating costs and poor storytelling became too much to withstand.
I’m very familiar with these characters and largely I’ve enjoyed what the MCU has offered.
For those who don’t know, Marvel sold the rights to the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man years ago, before making super hero based films was a thing.
Disney acquired 20th Century Fox a few years ago and thus they now own the X men characters once more and can use them on screen and incorporate them into their existing MCU.
The X men universe deals with mutants. These being people born with powers or abilities as opposed to heroes who gained their abilities via another route. The idea was very popular as the characters were always portrayed as feared and mistrusted by society. In the comics Wanda or The Scarlet Witch as she was known, was the daughter of X men bad guy Magneto.
She later joined the Avengers, as a mutant. In a key story line- when the comics universe still turned out good stories, House of M, she effectively re writes reality. She is that powerful.
Considering Marvel started with a clean sheet to write this series I can’t help but be disappointed. The first episodes are set to a 50’s American theme which is unlikely to resonate with anyone under 30.
Who tuned into this expecting a riff on long forgotten US sitcoms which youngsters couldn’t even call retro. I’m sure this will get better- it likely couldn’t get worse. Reading the reviews I’m shocked it’s getting such an easy ride.
By contrast I was losing interest in Star Wars. The Mandolorian was excellent and accessible from the off. I could well understand those casual Marvel fans being very disappointed with this. Bold does not equal good.

My two daughters, 21 and 17, loved it. Your under 30 comment is way off. I’m very familiar with these characters and largely I’ve enjoyed what the MCU has offered.

Looking forward to the rest of it.
So after watching the first 2 episodes of this, at the start I wasn't quite sure where this was going, filmed in the style of Bewitched/I Dream of Jeannie/I Love Lucy.
There's a couple of clues/easter eggs though that kinda shows where this is heading though.
Once the true plot comes out I'm thinking this is going to get a lot better.
It wasn't an instant grab like Mandalorion for me but nevertheless it was pretty decent and look forward to the rest of the series.
6.5/10 so far.

Plenty of folk who think the MCU is generic and doesn't allow creators to do things off piste. This is getting complaints for exactly the opposite reason! Probably hasn't helped that this is the biggest gap between MCU releases to date so demand for something traditional is higher than normal.
Massively ballsy of Disney for this to be the first few episodes of the first major MCU release on Disney+. I do wonder if one of the movies that never got released due to the pandemic would have had a post credits scene to lead us into this. I imagine the timing is a little off.
It's clearly going to kick off at some point anyway.

Did no one watch the trailer?
The way the overall plot goes and how the whole vintage TV thing develops and changes is pretty obvious.
I think they might just have made the thing a bit too hard to get into with the first episode or two.
I know it changes but I actively try to avoid trailers to movies I wanna watch - the trailer for batman vs superman pretty much gave away the film so there wasn't much point in watching it.The way the overall plot goes and how the whole vintage TV thing develops and changes is pretty obvious.

I wonder if those that liked the first 2 episodes end up disliking it when ot changed whereas i and others will flip flop

I read a couple of the reviews, but had no clue as to what they were talking about 90% of the time.
Is this another Marvel thing I need to know all about other Marvel things in order to watch?
You can watch it standalone. Is this another Marvel thing I need to know all about other Marvel things in order to watch?
Disney have put out a a 6 minute or so background on Wanda ( The Scarlett Witch) and another on Vision - to set the scene.
Watch those first. It will make more sense for you.
Wandavision is nothing like Marvel has done before.
For reasons yet unexplained - Wanda and Vision are living their lives in black and white in a 1950's sitcom in the style of Bewitched, I dream of Genie. etc.
She is the homemaker and he has a job.
But something isn't quite right....
