Just found out someone we know, is expecting ... the name of the child has already been decided ... Axle Hendrix (I assume no silly additional spelling to go along with the damning name, but im probably wrong)
Axel is an established name in some countries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axel_%28name%29?wpro...

That said is it any worse than calling your child Beyonce or some other pop-related name?

There was a boy at my sons nursery called Thor.
What an utterly awesome name and common in Scandinavian countries.
Thor's okay unless the boy grows up to be a bookish meek and mild little chap. It will be as bad as 'A Boy Named Sue' but in reverse. It's why Jacob Rees-Mogg wasn't called Hercules. What an utterly awesome name and common in Scandinavian countries.

I suspect we know the same person, the child in question is a twin?(or this is just a really odd coincidence )
The Axle is purposeful - it is indeed purported to be AXLE not AXEL or AXL - I assumed the latter to be corrected.
On questionable names, one of my younger brother's mates is named Lucifer. He works in a McDonalds in North London, and they made his name badge up as 'Luc' when he started, without consulting him. He took it personally and was talking about attempting to sue them for some time because of this (looking for a reason to sue when one doesn't exist = council). Anyone who knows him calls him Luci anyway.
Previous neighbours to us also had two daughters... Star and Skye.
