Volume 10. And still it goes on.

Is the cure worse than the disease? Hell yes.

To anyone:

If you think lockdowns and restrictions to our basic human rights are justified now or ever you're mental.

Who would have thought March 2020, 3 weeks to flatten the curve would still be going 11 months later?!

One might have hoped that Jess Phillips may have understood that no one was criticising people undergoing chemotherapy.
Basically, any form of dissent from accepted cannon is to be squashed.
This reflects the mess we are in as a society. But most of all, it is funny.
It’s Jess Phillips. Someone who doesn’t understand the difference between would and wouldn’t and doesn’t give a toss about male suicides.

But we will be happy.

1) We are all born free. We all have our own thoughts and ideas and we should all be treated the same way and 7) The law is the same for everyone, and must treat us all equally.

> Some are more free than others (Ferguson still gets to see his Mistress; Cummings to drive across the country). Also the police enforcing "spirit of the law" aka whatever they made up on the day and applying it to some (woman walking on beach 7 miles from home) and not others (Boris cycling 7 miles from home)

5) No one has the right to inflict torture, or to subject anyone else to cruel or inhuman treatment.

> Incarcerating the elderly and prohibiting contact with their family falls under "cruel and inhuman" in my book. Ditto for the actions being taken on children.

9) Nobody should be arrested, put in prison, or sent away from our country unless there is good reason to do so.
10) Everyone accused of a crime has the right to a fair and public trial, and those that try us should be independent and not influenced by others.
11) Everyone accused of a crime has the right to be considered innocent until they have fairly been proven to be guilty.

See random application of "guidance" or whatever a chief constable has decided. Also see 10 year prison sentences for incorrect statement on a landing card. Good reason? Not really.
Mandatory testing before you can work/fly/whatever is bordering on guilty until proven innocent, inverting the normal approach. Ditto handing out FPNs like confetti. It will be interesting to see if those trials make it to court and whether the judges are pressured to "make an example".

13) We all have the right to move freely within our country, and to visit and leave other countries when we wish.

Hahahahahaheeheheeheheheho.

14) We should have the right to marry and have a family as soon as we’re legally old enough.

I believe marriages are still banned? Certainly going to be hard for anyone coming of age in the last year to start a family while remaining socially distanced from their partner.

19) Everyone has the right to their own opinions, and to be able to express them freely. We should have the right to share our ideas with who we want, and in whichever way we choose.

OFCOM censorship of anything against the government line is a published statement. "Fact Checking" on Social Media ditto.

20) We should all have the right to form groups and organise peaceful meetings.

Banned outright.

21) We all have the right to take part in our country’s political affairs either by freely choosing politicians to represent us, or by belonging to the government ourselves. Governments should be voted for by the public on a regular basis

Elections Cancelled.

26) Everyone has the right to education.

Does what the kids are receiving count as "education"? Arguable.

So yes I can define the basic human rights and tick off the ones that have been revoked.

Plenty of mentalists who enjoy this.

Finally they get to make everyone else miserable.

Me? I tend to only check on this thread a couple of times a week instead of a couple of times an hour.

Yelling at the Internet won't change anything. Nothing any of us do here will change anything. Until BoJo says, we are stuck.

I will say this though.

If by say end of March there are no significant returns to normal, I don't care what anyone else says, there is a conspiracy to make this drag on.
